According to Straitstimes , Avalon Airport (Victoria, Australia) was partially evacuated early on May 21st after a suspicious object was discovered during security checks. The young man in possession of the item was detained.
Images from the scene show long lines of cars outside the airport, while security vehicles block the entrances.
“The bomb disposal team examined and identified the object as a laser hair removal device,” Victoria Police said in a statement. “The owner of the item was initially uncooperative, which made things more difficult.”

Due to the incident, several flights were delayed or canceled. The airport subsequently reopened and resumed normal operations.
The owner of the item in question has also been released and is on a flight to Sydney.
