Since noon on December 13, many users of the Messenger messaging app have reported an error that prevents them from sending or viewing images. The error mainly occurs with the Messenger app on iPhone devices.
Many users reported that they received notifications of new messages on the Messenger app, but when they opened the app to view the photos, they were unable to view them. Some reported that photos sent via messages were always in the status "This media file no longer exists" even though the internet connection was stable and the sender did not remove the photos.
Some users have changed different Wifi and 4G network connections to test, but the situation remains unchanged, mostly occurring with the Messenger application on IOS devices. Meanwhile, Messenger users on Android devices or web browsers say they can still use it normally.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Trang, living in Phu Nhuan District (HCMC), said that since noon on December 13, all messages on the Messenger application did not display images and could not send images. "Switching from Wifi to 4G, restarting the device did not work, this situation has significantly affected communication and work," Ms. Trang said.
According to the website Down Detector, which specializes in recording global network problems, Messenger is experiencing widespread problems with sending and receiving images and videos . Error reports have appeared since the morning of December 13, increasing gradually at noon, then decreasing gradually. iOS users in many places around the world also report the same Messenger error as users in Vietnam.
