Advantage
Gypsum is widely used in construction, usually used to make ceilings. Besides, gypsum is also used to make walls and partitions. Compared to normal brick walls, gypsum walls are 7-10 times lighter. Because of the lightness of gypsum walls, it helps reduce the load on the foundation of the building.
Another advantage is that plaster walls are 3 times faster to construct than brick walls and it is easy to install electrical systems in the wall, without having to saw and cut the wall, saving time on painting, decorating, etc.
In addition, when using plaster walls, homeowners can easily change the room structure and redistribute space without having to knock down the entire heavy brick wall. In addition, plaster wall construction will save more costs than brick walls.
Disadvantages
Besides the advantages, plaster walls still have certain disadvantages.
Gypsum walls have a hollow structure inside, so their ability to withstand impact is not good, and they are easily dented when there is a strong impact. In addition, gypsum walls cannot hang objects that are too heavy to overcome the wall's gravity, otherwise the wall will break, crack, or be damaged. When water seeps in many times, gypsum walls will turn yellow, discolor or fade, causing loss of aesthetics.
