Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Hong Tham delivered a speech directing the congress.
Speaking at the congress, comrade Le Hong Tham acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Party Committee and people of Giong Rieng commune in the past term. Notably, the economy remained stable, the structure shifted in the right direction; the work of building the Party and the political system achieved many comprehensive results; the effectiveness and efficiency of the government's management and administration were improved; the new rural construction program was completed as planned.
In the coming time, comrade Le Hong Tham suggested that Giong Rieng commune focus on mobilizing resources to invest in infrastructure, especially rural transport to meet advanced new rural standards, associated with agricultural restructuring towards comprehensive development. Promote digital transformation in all three areas: Digital economy , digital society and digital government, focusing on completing the population database, developing digital government and applying digital technology to leadership, management and handling administrative procedures.
Immediately after the congress, the Commune Party Committee needs to concretize the resolution into an action program with "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities", and quickly put the resolution into practice.

The congress announced the decision to appoint a 26-member Party Executive Committee, a 11-member Standing Committee, and 7 members to attend the congress (2 alternates). Comrade Nguyen Minh Trang was appointed to hold the position of Party Secretary of Giong Rieng commune for the 2025-2030 term.
| In the 2020 - 2025 term, Giong Rieng commune achieved many outstanding results: Annual food output reached more than 136,000 tons, over 95% of the area was high-quality rice; there were 46 effective production models, with income from 80 - 500 million VND/year; 9 OCOP products (1 4-star product), 3 times higher than before. Industry - handicrafts had 845 establishments, an increase of 21%; total retail sales reached 5,268 billion VND, an increase of 31% compared to 2020. Average income per capita reached 61 million VND/year, an increase of nearly 34%; poor households decreased to 1.1%, equal to 1/3 compared to 2020; the commune no longer had temporary houses, dilapidated houses... |
