Railway transport companies report large profits after 2 months of consolidation.

The Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has just announced a profit of over 1.3 billion VND from its business operations in November and December 2024, following the merger of Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company and Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company effective November 1, 2024.

All indicators showed good growth.

Accordingly, after two months of operating under the consolidated model, the company's revenue targets were all exceeded: Freight transport revenue reached nearly 283 billion VND, exceeding the target by nearly 8.9%; passenger and baggage transport revenue reached over 311 billion VND, exceeding the target by 3.9%; and total revenue and income reached over 682.8 billion VND, exceeding the target by more than 3%.

The Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company stated that this result was achieved because the railway has promoted passenger transport products, especially targeting group tourists and experiential tourists such as the Central Vietnam heritage train between Hue and Da Nang, charter trains, etc. Therefore, in addition to regular commuters, the railway has transported many large tourist groups, bringing stable revenue.

For 2025, the company plans to achieve revenue of VND 5,196 billion and after-tax profit of over VND 25 billion. It will continue to offer passenger transport products targeting tourists, such as charter trains, full carriage services, and shared carriages; expand partnerships with localities and tourism businesses to organize train tours, and sell or contract train routes. The Vietnam Railway Transport Corporation announced that it is implementing several programs to offer discounts on group train tickets on various routes.

Accordingly, for the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, groups of 11-40 people who book tickets 10-19 days in advance will receive a 4% discount; those booking 20 days or more in advance will receive a 6% discount. Groups of 41-70 people will receive discounts of 6% and 8% respectively; groups of 71-100 people will receive discounts of 8% and 10% respectively; and groups of 101 people or more will receive discounts of 10% and 12% respectively.

On the Hanoi - Hai Phong route, groups of 11-41 people receive a 9% discount on tickets; 42-70 people receive an 11% discount; 71-100 people receive a 13% discount; and groups of 100 or more receive a 15% discount. To qualify for the discount, groups must purchase tickets at least 24 hours before the train departs.

On the Hanoi - Lao Cai route, groups of 11-28 people receive a 5% discount on train tickets for trains SP1 and SP3 from Hanoi to Lao Cai; and an 11% discount on trains SP2, SP4, and SP10 from Lao Cai to Hanoi.

Groups of 29-56 people purchasing tickets collectively will receive discounts of 7% and 13% respectively; for groups of 56 or more, the discounts will be 9% and 15% respectively.

Currently, between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the railway operates daily the following train pairs: SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8. Between Hanoi and Vinh, the NA1/NA2 train pair runs daily; between Hanoi and Da Nang, the SE19/SE20 train pair runs daily.

Between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, the SE21/SE22 train pair runs daily; between Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang, the SNT1/SNT2 train pair runs daily; between Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet, the SPT1/SPT2 train pair runs on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday); between Ho Chi Minh City and Quy Nhon, the SE30 train departs from Saigon station every Friday, and the SE29 train departs from Quy Nhon station every Sunday.

Between Hue and Da Nang, there are two pairs of trains running daily, connecting heritage sites: HD1/HD2 and HD3/HD4.

Between Hanoi and Hai Phong, there are the following train pairs: HP1/HP2, LP5/LP6, LP2/3, LP7/LP8.

Between Hanoi and Lao Cai, train SP3 currently runs regularly, departing from Hanoi station at 22:00 and arriving at Lao Cai station at 5:55; train SP7 departs at 22:40 and arrives at 6:25. In the opposite direction, train SP4 departs from Lao Cai station at 9:30 and arrives at Hanoi station at 5:35; train SP8 departs at 12:05 and arrives at 19:37.

In addition, the railway continues to maintain a policy of discounted fares for socially disadvantaged groups: Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, seriously ill soldiers, people with disabilities, children, students, trade union members, etc.
