At 1:45 p.m. on November 13, the price of PNJ brand gold rings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City recorded a decrease of VND 400,000/tael in both buying and selling prices, currently being traded at VND 80.8 million/tael (buy) and VND 82.4 million/tael (sell).

SJC gold of Phu Quy Jewelry Group saw a smaller decrease, with the buying price decreasing by VND300,000/tael, to VND82.5 million/tael, and the selling price decreasing by VND100,000/tael, to VND84 million/tael.

Meanwhile, SJC gold of Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) and DOJI Jewelry Group maintained stable prices compared to yesterday, trading at VND80.5 million/tael (buy) and VND84 million/tael (sell).

In general, during the past month (from October 13 to November 13), the price of SJC gold has decreased by 2 million VND/tael for buying and 500,000 VND/tael for selling.

In the international market, gold prices have fallen to their lowest level in nearly two months. At 2:23 a.m. on November 13 (Hanoi time), spot gold prices fell 0.7% to $2,600.93/ounce, and at one point fell 1% to $2,589.59/ounce, the lowest level since September 20, 2024. Meanwhile, gold futures in the US fell 0.4% to close at $2,606.30/ounce.

The decline was largely driven by a stronger US dollar, which hit a more than four-month high, making gold more expensive for holders of other currencies. Bitcoin also gained as investors bet on a breakout if Donald Trump is re-elected in January 2025. US government bond yields are also rising.

Despite the decline in gold prices in this trading session, Daniel Pavilonis, market strategist at brokerage RJO Futures, believes that gold prices will have a long-term upward trend. According to him, US monetary policy could lead to inflation, and if this situation continues, gold will benefit. Technically, Pavilonis predicts that the gold market will soon enter a price recovery, with support around $ 2,600 / ounce.
