(HTV) - On the afternoon of September 5, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung had a meeting with Mr. Harry Hwang, Director of Asia - Pacific Region of the United Nations Tourism Organization, within the framework of the 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair in 2025, opening up opportunities for cooperation in developing sustainable and creative tourism.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung welcomed the Asia- Pacific Regional Director of UN Tourism at the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair.

Mr. Harry Hwang expressed his impression of the organization of the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair, evaluating it as a reference model for effective tourism development for many countries in the region. He said that UN Tourism wishes to establish deeper connections with Ho Chi Minh City in the fields of culinary tourism development and event organization, thereby creating a great influence for global tourism.

The meeting highlighted the potential for sports tourism development and women's empowerment programs in the tourism industry.

To concretize cooperation, Vice President Nguyen Van Dung proposed five key areas including: sustainable tourism development strategy and policy, global tourism data research, human resource development, tourism promotion, and innovation in tourism technology.
