Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung welcomed Mr. Harry Hwang, Director of Asia - Pacific Region of United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), who is visiting and working in the city, on the occasion of the 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair.
Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung welcomed the Asia- Pacific Regional Director of UN Tourism at the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair.
Mr. Harry Hwang expressed his impression of the organization of the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair, evaluating it as a reference model for effective tourism development for many countries in the region. He said that UN Tourism wishes to establish deeper connections with Ho Chi Minh City in the fields of culinary tourism development and event organization, thereby creating a great influence for global tourism.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City is upgrading infrastructure to serve modern tourism development and implementing a strategy for sports tourism development. He also mentioned the potential for cooperation in organizing a workshop on women's empowerment in tourism, considering this an important field for sustainable development.
The meeting highlighted the potential for sports tourism development and women's empowerment programs in the tourism industry.
To concretize cooperation, Vice President Nguyen Van Dung proposed five key areas including: sustainable tourism development strategy and policy, global tourism data research, human resource development, tourism promotion, and innovation in tourism technology.
The two sides expect that cooperation will open up many opportunities for investment and development of modern and creative tourism in Ho Chi Minh City.
The meeting opened up opportunities for close cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the United Nations Tourism Organization, contributing to the development of the city's tourism in a modern, sustainable direction and increasing competitiveness in the international market.
