Gold "turns around" and slightly decreases

Gold price this afternoon, November 25, 2024: After a week of simultaneous price increases, world gold price decreased by 50 USD/ounce, SJC gold bar price suddenly decreased slightly this afternoon.

At the time of survey at 3:00 p.m. on November 25, 2024, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:

Major brands such as SJC, DOJI HN, DOJI all decreased by 400,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling prices.

Bao Tin Minh Chau SJC and Phu Quy SJC gold prices have a larger purchase price reduction (VND500,000/tael), but the selling price reduction is less (VND200,000/tael).

PNJ Company had the strongest decrease, buying price decreased by 1.1 million VND/tael, selling price decreased by 1 million VND/tael, the biggest decrease in the table.

Most brands keep the buying and selling price difference around 2 million VND/tael.

The domestic gold price was swept away by the world gold price decline, causing gold rings to lose up to 900,000 VND per tael.

Specifically, SJC 9999 gold ring is listed for buying and selling at 84.50 - 86.00 million VND/tael, down 500,000 VND/tael for both buying and selling compared to the closing price of the previous session.

Nhan Phu Quy adjusted down 800,000 VND per tael for buying and 600,000 VND per tael for selling compared to the closing price at the end of last week, bringing the buying and selling transactions down to 84.80 - 86.20 million VND per tael.

Deeper decrease, at DOJI, gold ring buying and selling prices respectively lost 900,000 VND and 500,000 VND/tael compared to the closing price last weekend, currently trading at 84.70 - 86.10 million VND/tael.

This morning, Vietnam time, the world spot gold price was at 2,699.6 USD/ounce, up 9.6 USD/ounce compared to the end of the previous week. The price of gold futures for December 2024 on the Comex New York floor was at 2,722 USD/ounce.

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 2,711.91 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.01% compared to yesterday. Converted to the USD exchange rate, on the free market (25,710 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 84 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 3 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold continues to trend towards new highs against the US dollar and other major currencies, especially when compared to the performance of the euro, said independent analyst Jesse Colombo.

If gold can hold above $2,700 an ounce in the short term, the precious metal could continue to rise, according to Daniel Pavilonis, senior commodities broker at RJO Futures. He predicts the next resistance level could be $2,800 an ounce, which would match the previous high. Pavilonis also noted that investors are now adjusting their strategies based on geopolitical risks, especially in the final trading session before the Thanksgiving holiday.
