Gold reverses course and falls slightly.

Gold prices this afternoon, November 25, 2024: After a week of widespread price increases, world gold prices fell by $50/ounce, and SJC gold bar prices unexpectedly decreased slightly this afternoon.

As of 3 PM on November 25, 2024, the gold prices on the exchanges of several companies were as follows:

Major brands such as SJC, DOJI HN, and DOJI have all reduced their gold prices by 400,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling.

At Bao Tin Minh Chau SJC and Phu Quy SJC, the buying price decreased more significantly (500,000 VND/ounce), but the selling price decreased less significantly (200,000 VND/ounce).

PNJ Company experienced the sharpest decline, with the buying price falling by 1.1 million VND/ounce and the selling price falling by 1 million VND/ounce, the largest decrease in the table.

Most brands maintain a buy-sell price difference of around 2 million VND per tael.

Domestic gold prices were swept along by the downward trend of global gold prices, causing gold rings to lose up to 900,000 VND per tael.

Specifically, SJC 9999 gold rings are listed at 84.50 - 86.00 million VND/ounce for buying and selling, a decrease of 500,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices compared to the closing price of the previous session.

Phu Quy gold prices adjusted down by 800,000 VND per tael for buying and 600,000 VND per tael for selling compared to the closing price last weekend, bringing the buying and selling prices down to 84.80 - 86.20 million VND per tael.

At DOJI, gold ring prices fell further, with buying and selling prices dropping by 900,000 VND and 500,000 VND per tael respectively compared to the closing price of last weekend, currently trading at 84.70 - 86.10 million VND per tael.

This morning, Vietnam time, the spot price of gold in the world market was $2,699.6 per ounce, an increase of $9.6 per ounce compared to the end of last week. The price of gold futures for December 2024 on the Comex New York exchange was $2,722 per ounce.

According to Kitco, the spot price of gold in the world market at 4:30 AM Vietnam time today was $2,711.91 per ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.01% compared to yesterday. Converted using the USD exchange rate (25,710 VND/USD) in the free market, world gold is priced at approximately 84 million VND per tael (excluding taxes and fees). Therefore, the price of SJC gold bars is currently 3 million VND per tael higher than the international gold price.

Independent analyst Jesse Colombo noted that gold continues its trend of setting new highs against the US dollar and other major currencies, especially when compared to the performance of the euro.

According to Daniel Pavilonis, a senior commodities broker at RJO Futures, if gold maintains its price above $2,700 per ounce in the short term, the precious metal could continue to rise. He predicts the next resistance level could be $2,800 per ounce, equivalent to the previous high. Pavilonis also noted that investors are currently adjusting their strategies based on geopolitical risks, particularly during the trading session leading up to Thanksgiving.
