The natural landscape of the U Minh Ha forest.

U Minh Ha National Park

Located approximately 26 km by road from the center of Ca Mau City, U Minh Ha National Park covers a core area of 8,527.8 hectares. It is a nature reserve of Ca Mau province, recognized by UNESCO as one of the three core areas of the Ca Mau Cape World Biosphere Reserve in 2009. The highlight of U Minh Ha National Park is its wetland ecosystem of mangrove forests on peat soil; home to many rare and endangered bird and animal species listed in the Vietnamese Red Book. It is also a conservation area for the natural environment and genetic resources of many plant species. With its lush green mangrove forests, pristine forests, and diverse flora and fauna, visitors can immerse themselves in the endless greenery amidst a peaceful natural setting.

Visiting U Minh Ha National Park, tourists can explore the forest scenery by motorboat, canoe, or ferry. They can also experience fishing in the forest, catching freshwater fish such as tilapia, snakehead, and catfish, and even prepare their own meals.

The ideal time to explore the U Minh Melaleuca Forest is from the beginning of September in the lunar calendar until the Lunar New Year each year. During this period, the heavy rainfall in September and October causes the water level to rise, flooding the forest and allowing for abundant growth of flora and fauna. It is also very convenient for traveling by boat.
