TPO - FIFA had to reduce ticket prices for the semi-final match between Chelsea and Fluminense (02:00 on July 9) dozens of times due to poor purchasing power.

According to US media, from 473.9 USD at the beginning of last week, now the standard ticket price for a seat in the stands is only 13.4 USD (equivalent to 350,000 VND). This price is even much cheaper than national team matches in Southeast Asia.

The confrontation recorded a very small number of tickets sold, forcing fans to reduce prices by... 35 times to stimulate demand. The reason why the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final, the most anticipated tournament this summer, has dropped so dramatically is because the appeal of the two clubs Chelsea and Fluminense in the US is not great. Chelsea is not as "hot" as MU, Liverpool or Man City while Fluminense is mainly loved by the samba country's fan community.

Chelsea is not the most popular club in America

It is no coincidence that since the beginning of the tournament, both Chelsea and Fluminense have had to reduce ticket prices to attract more fans to the stadium. Tickets for the quarter-final match between Fluminense and Al Hilal on the last day were only $11.15. Tickets for the match between Chelsea and Palmeiras dropped to nearly $20, and tickets for the Chelsea vs El Tunis match also plummeted, but when the ball rolled, only 30,000 fans came to the stadium, occupying less than half of the stadium's capacity.

Meanwhile, the remaining match between Real Madrid and PSG is "in demand". Fans are hunting for tickets to the stadium even though the prices are not cheap. The lowest price for a seat class is 199.60 USD, while the average price is up to 602 USD, meaning 15 million VND for a pretty good position to watch the match.
