Special steel and rail production project creates momentum for Quang Ngai economic growth

(QNgTV) - The Hoa Phat Dung Quat railway rail and special steel production project has been approved in principle for investment by the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Quang Ngai province.

Along with the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex in Dung Quat Economic Zone, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat railway and special steel production project is the driving force for socio-economic development of Quang Ngai province.

The project is invested by Hoa Phat Dung Quat Special Steel and Rail Joint Stock Company. The project is built in the Eastern Industrial Park, Dung Quat Economic Zone, with a land area of 14.79 hectares, a designed capacity of 700,000 tons/year, and a total investment of VND 10 trillion; expected to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2028.

The project, when put into operation, will promptly meet the demand for railway steel for key national projects in the coming period such as: North-South high-speed railway project, Hanoi-Lao Cai-Hai Phong urban railway system and many other important projects.

Thereby, contributing to meeting the needs of developing transport infrastructure, meeting the increasing demand for freight and passenger transport in the context of rapid economic development, helping to reduce import costs and creating a strong domestic steel industry, meeting future needs.
