On the afternoon of March 14, Mr. Nguyen Van Thin - owner of Minh Duc gold shop, Minh Nong ward (Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province) said: At around 2:00 p.m. on March 12, Ms. A. was taken to the gold shop by her nephew and brought 270 million VND to buy a 3-tael gold necklace.

After buying the gold, Ms. A. asked Mr. Thin to transfer money to the account number written on a piece of paper. However, Mr. Thin noticed that the woman was acting strangely and was in a state of panic, so he slowly asked her about it.

According to Mr. Thin, after being reassured, Ms. A. told him about a person claiming to be a police officer calling to inform her that she was involved in a criminal case. At the same time, the subjects asked her to withdraw all the money in her account to go to a gold shop to buy 3 taels of gold, the remaining amount would be transferred to several accounts.

After hearing the whole story, Mr. Thin contacted Minh Nong Ward Police to support Ms. A.

Immediately after approaching and verifying the incident, Minh Nong Ward Police explained and propagandized, and Mrs. A. and her granddaughter returned home in Lam Thao district.
