
According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Phnom Penh, on the afternoon of January 13, at the headquarters of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong met with Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul. During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong highly appreciated the trade cooperation between the two countries, with bilateral trade turnover projected to reach US$11.33 billion in 2025.
For her part, Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul congratulated Vietnam on its economic and trade achievements in recent years, considering them a model for Cambodia to learn from; she also expressed confidence that in the future, the Vietnamese economy will continue its high growth momentum within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the world.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed several measures to promote economic and trade connectivity between the two countries, striving to achieve a bilateral trade turnover of 20 billion USD in the near future.
Earlier, on January 12th, at the headquarters of the Cambodian Council of Ministers' Office, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Neth Savoeun, Deputy Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia and Chairman of the National Committee for Drug Prevention and Control of Cambodia.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong congratulated Cambodia on its development achievements in recent years, including maintaining stable economic growth, contributing to maintaining socio-economic stability and improving people's lives.

For his part, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun extended his congratulations on Vietnam's outstanding development achievements, particularly the maintenance of an impressive economic growth rate of 8.02% in 2025, demonstrating the dynamic recovery and development of the Vietnamese economy.
Appreciating Vietnam's increasingly important role and position in the region and on the international stage, Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun expressed confidence that Vietnam will successfully organize the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Furthermore, both sides also shared the importance of strengthening coordination among all ministries, sectors, and localities; maintaining and enhancing the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms; and promoting substantive and effective coordination in the future, thereby further deepening the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as contributing to consolidating the stability, development, and peace of the region.
