The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just received information on the official results of the Vietnam National Team participating in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025 in the capital city of Sucre, Bolivia. The Vietnam National Team has 4 students participating in the competition and all 4/4 students excellently won medals, including 1 Gold medal, 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal.

Le Kien Thanh, a 12th grade student at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai province, won the Gold medal.
Dang Huy Hau, a 10th grade student from Thang Long High School for the Gifted, Lam Dong province, and Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, an 11th grade student from High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences , University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi won silver medals.
Ninh Quang Thang, a 12th grade student at Ha Long High School for the Gifted, Quang Ninh province, won a Bronze medal.
With 100% of contestants winning medals, the Vietnam National IOI Team is among the top 8 countries and territories with the highest results in the medal tally, after China, South Korea, Romania, Singapore, Bulgaria, Hungary and Japan.
As countries increasingly invest heavily in their teams in the era of digital technology and artificial intelligence, competition at the IOI Competition is increasingly fierce. However, the Vietnam IOI Team still maintains its achievements and continues to be in the Top of the countries with the best overall achievements.
The outstanding achievements of the Vietnam National Team at IOI 2025 continue to affirm the position of Vietnamese education in the top intellectual arena, while affirming the right direction in the work of discovering, selecting and nurturing excellent students of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The 37th International Olympiad in Informatics was held live from July 27 to August 3 in the capital city of Sucre, Bolivia with the official participation of 330 contestants from 86 countries and territories.
According to the regulations of the IOI Council 2025, the Exam has two official exam days. On each day, candidates will take a 5-hour computer programming test, solving 3 problems with rich content. The results will be automatically graded online by the system and the scoreboard will be announced directly during the two online exam days.
The IOI 2025 exam is assessed to be highly difficult, diverse in genres with 6 tests of 6 completely different types, requiring candidates to have comprehensive background knowledge, creativity and flexible thinking.
