A unified global environmental cooperation ecosystem is an important step in uniting nations for the well-being of the planet and building a harmonious, respectful relationship with resources.
Modern ecological technology and environmental awareness in shaping business strategies are key priorities to promote sustainable environmental management, improve people's quality of life and develop environmental culture.
How can we move from innovative technological solutions for the benefit of humanity to active participation in preserving nature as a source of life and inspiration? How can science , business and government unite to mitigate global environmental challenges for the benefit of people and the environment?
That was the discussion content at the session "International Ecosystem: Integration into a Green Future" that the delegation of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) led by Vice President, Professor-Academician Le Truong Giang attended and was invited as a speaker.
Discussing with leaders of many countries and international organizations, including Belarusian Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Sergey Maslyak, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Stepan Kalmykov, Cuban Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Environment José Fidel Santana Nuñez, Professor-Academician Le Truong Giang emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the field of research and development of energy technology; including the new field of fusion energy - an optimal clean energy source but requiring concentrated research and resources in large cross-border projects.
Vietnam calls for starting cooperation now, instead of waiting, to prepare for the future and affirms that close connections between science-state-business will be the key: science provides evidence and innovation, the state issues policies, and businesses take the lead in application.
On this basis, Vietnam proposed an initiative to build a multilateral research organization on green energy, bringing together partners such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom, and research units around the world such as the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, etc., to mobilize resources, share expertise and train a generation of young scientists.
In addition, the Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology also proposed expanding cooperation in human resource training, especially in nuclear research, radiation safety and through cooperation between universities of Vietnam and the Russian Federation in the coming time, aiming to expand universities in the region and the world, thereby preparing resources for the green and clean development path in the future.
The speech by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology has received attention from international friends, contributing to affirming Vietnam's strong commitment to accompanying the international community in building a green, safe and sustainable energy future.
Professor-Academician Le Truong Giang affirmed that participating in this prestigious forum is a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese scientists. Right from the first steps in developing nuclear energy, Vietnam has determined to put safety first, and considered this the focus of research in the discussions and work with partners at the forum.
With the determination to implement the important resolutions of the Politburo on energy, VAST leaders consider international cooperation an important task to ensure the autonomy of Vietnamese scientists in this new energy field for the country./.
