All five Vietnamese students participating in the 2023 European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) won medals, including one gold medal, three silver medals and one bronze medal.
Specifically, the gold medal belongs to Dang Bao Quan, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An .
Three silver medals went to Vo Minh Dang (Luong Van Chanh High School for the Gifted, Phu Yen); Truong Phi Hung ( Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, Bac Giang); Vu Tung Lam (Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Phu Tho).
Bronze Medal belongs to Nguyen Khai ( Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province).
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Cao Khang - Hanoi National University of Education, Head of the Vietnamese delegation - said that the participating students were selected by the Vietnam Physics Association from students who won high prizes in the national excellent student competition for the 2022-2023 school year.
"In addition, students have a long time to review with nearly 2 months of concentrated study at Hanoi Pedagogical University. Therefore, this year's exam results are better than last year's," Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Cao Khang assessed.
EuPhO is a competition for high school students from European countries and some other countries as guests. In 2023, EuPhO takes place from June 16 to June 20 in Germany with the participation of 181 students from 38 countries in and outside Europe.
This is the fifth year Vietnam has participated in this competition. Last year, the Vietnamese team won two silver medals and one bronze medal.
