Vietnam participates in Asia's largest defense exhibition.

At the invitation of the Singapore Ministry of Defence , a delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence, led by Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, attended the 9th Singapore Airshow in Singapore from February 20-25.

At the exhibition, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence delegation attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony; visited the booths and product displays of several major international businesses and corporations; and watched flight demonstrations performed by the air forces of Singapore, India, the United States, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Australia, and several international civil airlines. Within the framework of the exhibition, the delegation held meetings with several partners to discuss issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.

During a meeting with Mr. Daniel Blazkovec, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son expressed gratitude for the valuable assistance of the Czechoslovakian people (now the Czech Republic) to Vietnam's struggle for national independence and nation-building. He was pleased with the outstanding results of defence cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in recent years and hoped that both sides would continue to promote cooperation in the future in many areas such as delegation exchanges and training.

During a meeting with US Air Force Assistant Secretary Andrew Hunter, the head of the Vietnamese delegation assessed that bilateral relations have continued to develop well in recent times, in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation, and Sustainable Development. Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son suggested that in the coming time, both sides should strengthen cooperation based on signed documents, prioritizing cooperation in training, search and rescue, military medicine, participation in United Nations peacekeeping forces, and addressing the consequences of war in Vietnam...

During bilateral meetings and discussions with various countries and partners, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son thanked the Ministries of Defense and armed forces of these countries for sending high-level delegations to attend the Vietnam International Defence Exhibition 2022. He expressed his hope that the Ministries of Defense, armed forces, and defense enterprises of these countries would continue to support and participate in the Vietnam International Defence Exhibition 2024, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

The Singapore Airshow is Asia's largest defense exhibition, held every two years. According to the organizers, more than 900 companies and organizations from 45 countries and territories participated in the exhibition.
