Vietnam was named in the 20 best countries in the world for tourists in 2024 by American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
According to the ranking of the 20 best countries in the world in 2024 (The Best Countries in the World) published by the American travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler in October, Vietnam is in 15th place with 89 points. Another Southeast Asian destination on the list is Thailand, ranked third with 92.29 points. Topping the top 20 is Japan with 95.32 points.
Rankings are included in the annual awards The American magazine's Readers' Choice Awards are based on the reviews of more than 575,000 readers about travel experiences in each country, considering criteria such as culture, landscape, tourism services and infrastructure.

Readers of Condé Nast Traveler commented that Vietnam attracts tourists thanks to its rustic and charming beauty. "With the number of foreign visitors on the rise since 2019, Vietnam is no longer a remarkable destination but a destination worth visiting," wrote the editor of Condé Nast Traveler.
According to data from the General Statistics Office, in the first 9 months of the year, Vietnam welcomed more than 12.7 million international visitors, exceeding the total number of visitors in 2023 of 12.6 million.
The number of international visitors to Vietnam has grown positively in the first 9 months of 2024, with some markets fully recovering, up sharply compared to 2019, according to the National Tourism Administration. The agency also predicts that with the current growth momentum, Vietnam will complete the target of welcoming 17-18 million international visitors in 2024.
Thailand is considered by an American magazine to be a country with diverse landscapes and convenient transportation with many boats, night buses and cheap domestic flights. Cuisine is also a highlight of the Golden Temple country with many bustling night markets selling local specialties. In the first 8 months of 2024, Thailand welcomed more than 20 million international visitors, an increase of 34% over the same period last year. The country aims to welcome at least 36-37 million foreign visitors this year, expecting to earn about 3,500 billion baht (95.5 billion USD).
Condé Nast Traveler is a globally renowned travel magazine, launched in 1987. Condé Nast Traveler's rankings such as the Readers' Choice Awards are considered prestigious by travel experts because they are based on opinions from millions of international readers.
