There is still a lot of room for cooperation between Vietnam and China in the fields of science , technology and innovation, but there is still much to do to make it a reality. This information was given at the Vietnam-China Technology Transfer, Trade and Investment Connection Conference 2025 held on the afternoon of May 29 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event was co-organized by the Trade Industry Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the National Center for Supporting Innovative Startups ( Ministry of Science and Technology ) and the Vietnam Innovation Hub Network.
According to Mr. Le Toan Thang, Deputy Director of the National Center for Supporting Innovative Startups, science, technology and innovation are key factors for the sustainable development of the economy in the digital age.
Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation is considered a pillar to help the country make a breakthrough. Therefore, Vietnam pays great attention and attaches great importance to extensive cooperation in this field, in order to help domestic enterprises access and take advantage of global technological achievements for development.

China is one of the countries with developed science and technology, a potential market for Vietnamese enterprises to seek cooperation opportunities, access advanced technology trends and effective transfer practices.
“Supply-demand connection activities are very practical for Vietnamese startups to find investors, markets and practical support for future development. The National Center for Supporting Innovative Startups will continue to accompany and support connection and cooperation activities in the field of startups and innovation, creating favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries, especially young businesses and technology businesses, to meet, exchange and cooperate effectively and long-term,” Mr. Thang emphasized.
Also interested in and wishing to promote stronger cooperation in the fields of science and technology in the business communities of the two countries, Ms. Vuong Hi, Vice President of the Trade Industry Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science and trade is still very large.
To reach higher goals, businesses need to prepare themselves with important skills and foundations, and especially the support of functional sectors of the two countries.
Through practical activities, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade has organized many business trips to Southeast Asia, with Vietnam as the focus, to help the business communities of the two countries have the opportunity to meet and learn about each other's potential and advantages. Thereby, finding a common voice for a long-term cooperative relationship.
Along with introducing cooperation policies and connecting businesses, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade also shared about cooperation channels, from traditional to cross-border e-commerce, thereby building a practical platform for startups and entrepreneurs of Vietnam and China to exchange and promote a smooth cross-border resource connection service chain.
Chinese enterprises highly appreciate the current business environment in Vietnam, with its complete legal policies, clear production cost advantages, adequate infrastructure, and great industry potential, bringing new opportunities for cooperation between enterprises of the two countries. This will be the premise to promote close cooperation between enterprises of the two countries in trade, investment, science and technology, and innovation.
From the business perspective, Mr. Dang Duc Thanh, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Vietnam Economists Club, proposed the establishment of the Vietnam-China Small and Medium Enterprise Alliance, under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This will be a bridge, a legal and important foundation to support the two countries' communities to move towards effective and successful trade cooperation.
Some opinions also said that cooperation between businesses of the two countries must take into account fundamental and sustainable factors, respect the interests of businesses and the community, contribute to promoting the potential, advantages and increase the competitiveness of both countries on the global technology map./.
