Representatives of VietinBank and FPT attended the Launching Ceremony of the Process Automation Project
Through the Project, VietinBank will use the akaBot smart automation solution developed by FPT to deploy virtual robots with integrated AI capabilities to automate repetitive tasks. The solution not only helps increase the productivity of staff and employees, towards digitizing the entire process; but also helps VietinBank prepare a solid foundation for the new phase of digital transformation. VietinBank will automate a total of 10 processes, focusing on data transmission and reception processes with card organizations and monitoring, fee collection, accounting or payment generation processes in trade finance, contributing to improving service quality for customers. Prioritizing automation deployment not only helps the bank save thousands of working hours; but also ensures that all processes are operated 100% accurately, minimizing the risks of manual operations. For VietinBank's customers - the end users, the automation project helps speed up transaction processing, ensuring that transactions fully comply with international financial and trade regulations. This contributes to improving the experience of both individual and corporate customers of VietinBank by up to 80%. Since 2021, VietinBank has started applying automation technology to the savings book mortgage lending process. The number of automatically processed applications is about 3,000 applications/month, saving 65% of operating time compared to manual processes. The relentless digital transformation efforts have helped VietinBank maintain its position in the Top 3 in the CIR (Cost of Operations to Revenue) ranking of the Banking Industry for many years, and is also in the Top 5 banks with the highest customer satisfaction in 2024 (according to Decision Lab). By joining hands with FPT to implement a new process automation project with a "make in Vietnam" solution like akaBot, VietinBank aims to continue to maintain its top position among banks in optimizing profits, costs and improving the digital banking system. Speaking at the Project Launch Ceremony, Mr. Tran Cong Quynh Lan - Deputy General Director of VietinBank shared: "The deployment of advanced automation technologies from FPT and akaBot not only helps save working time for bank officers and employees; but also improves customer experience, optimizes business efficiency and contributes to the implementation of VietinBank's digital transformation journey in the period of 2023 - 2025, vision 2030". Mr. Nguyen Khai Hoan - Deputy General Director and Chief Financial Officer of FPT Software, FPT Corporation, said: “With 3 decades of experience in providing technology solutions to domestic and international banks and financial institutions, FPT is ready to accompany VietinBank in the new phase of digital transformation. We expect that this cooperation project will not only bring outstanding operational efficiency to VietinBank; but also open up many opportunities for strategic cooperation in the future”.

At the launching ceremony, VietinBank and FPT committed to closely coordinate to ensure the timely implementation of the Project. It is expected that all automation processes will be completed in the first half of 2025 to promptly bring practical value to VietinBank in its digital transformation journey.
