According to information from the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group ( Viettel Group), within the framework of the Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC 2025) in Barcelona, Spain; Viettel High Tech Corporation, one of the few comprehensive 4G/5G solution providers in the global telecommunications industry, has officially announced the testing of 5G equipment with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications (DU ) , the leading network operator in the Middle East.
This event marks a breakthrough in Viettel High Tech's international expansion strategy, while affirming Vietnam's technological capacity on the global telecommunications map.
At the event, Viettel High Tech and its strategic partner High Cloud Technologies (HCT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DU to commit to cooperating in deploying, testing and commercializing 5G solutions in the Middle East. The first phase will focus on testing on DU's advanced network with two categories: 5G OpenRAN public network and 5G Private Network.
The deployment of Viettel High Tech's advanced 5G solutions not only meets the increasing demand for network capacity and high data transmission speed, but also lays the foundation for breakthrough applications such as smart cities, virtual reality experiences, augmented reality (VR, AR) and industrial internet of things (IoT)...
Mr. Nguyen Vu Ha, General Director of Viettel High Tech, affirmed that the cooperation between Viettel High Tech, DU and HCT will create a strong 5G ecosystem, meeting international standards and promoting the digital transformation process in the region.
Meanwhile, Mr. Fahad Al Hassawi, General Director of DU, said that this cooperation is an important step forward in providing future-ready connectivity solutions. The integration of 5G Private and OpenRAN will help DU build a new generation telecommunications ecosystem, bringing value to businesses, governments and communities.
The partnership between Viettel High Tech and DU is in line with the UAE’s national digitalisation strategy, which prioritises investment in telecommunications infrastructure to drive economic growth. Successful trials will pave the way for large-scale commercial deployment, making the UAE a world-class centre for advanced telecommunications technology.
