VinFuture 2023 received numerous nominations for applications of artificial intelligence.

The VinFuture Global Science and Technology Award 2023 has officially closed its nominations portal with 1,389 applications received. The number of partners nominating for the VinFuture Award 2023 has increased more than fourfold compared to the first season.

According to the organizers, at VinFuture Season 3, 20% of the nominated partners are authors belonging to the top 2% of the most cited researchers in the world . These nominations come from reputable scientists and organizations from more than 90 countries and territories across 6 continents.

Leading in the number of nominated partners for the 3rd VinFuture Award are scientists from the Americas (30.3%), followed by Asia (28.6%), Africa (9.5%), and Oceania (6.8%). Notably, the percentage of nominated partners from Europe increased by 24.8%, 1.5 times higher than in 2022.

The VinFuture Award's nominated partners all come from leading universities and research institutions worldwide, such as Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of California system, Johns Hopkins University (USA), the Max Planck Institute (Germany), the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford (UK), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), the University of Tokyo (Japan), Yonsei University (Korea), Monash University (Australia), etc.

The 2023 VinFuture season also saw greater diversity compared to the first two seasons. Nominations covered many essential fields such as health and healthcare, energy, environment, agriculture , climate change, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) across multiple sectors… All projects showed promise of exceptional development potential and would benefit the daily lives of millions of people.

Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the VinFuture Award, shared: “ The 3rd season of the VinFuture Award has received widespread acclaim and support from the international scientific community. The number of nominated partners has increased more than fourfold, from nearly 1,200 partners in the first season to over 5,264 partners this year. This confirms the growing prestige of the Award in the global scientific community, emphasizing its role as a driving force for scientific development .”

With the mission of "Science serving humanity," all VinFuture Season 3 nominees meet the criteria of clearly demonstrating the positive impact they have had or the potential to bring about positive changes in the lives of millions of people.

In addition, many nominations fall into emerging fields such as inventions that assist people with disabilities, neurological diseases and cancer, material property control models, quantum computing, new energy sources, and cost-effective high-tech materials and devices…

The preliminary round of the VinFuture Awards 2023 took place from June 1st to September 16th. The preliminary judging panel, consisting of 12 members, evaluated the nominations based on a rigorous review process and the highest international standards, ensuring scientific rigor, fairness, and transparency.

The core evaluation criteria include the level of progress in science and technology, the positive impact on people's lives, as well as the scale and sustainability of the project.
