General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, awarded the First Class Labor Medal to Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup Corporation for the Group's outstanding achievements in organizing and implementing the construction of the National Exhibition and Fair Center.
The event of awarding the First Class Labor Medal to Vingroup Corporation is part of the program of the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) - at the Inauguration point of the National Exhibition Fair Center, Tu Lien bridge area, Dong Anh, Hanoi .
The National Exhibition and Fair Center is a key national project, in the top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world . The project has a total scale of up to 900,000 m2, expected to be an international destination for leading global trade and exhibition events and a new development symbol of the Capital.
The project started on August 30, 2024, and the site was handed over on June 27, 2025 - after only nearly 10 months of construction, 15 months ahead of schedule. This is an unprecedentedly fast construction progress under challenging conditions of construction techniques as well as the difficulty of the giant arch structure made of super-sized and super-heavy steel.
Vingroup, as the investor and general contractor, has focused all resources, from proactively developing design plans, coordinating human resources, machinery, and materials to ensuring the supply chain and connecting contractors.
Specifically, during the construction period, Vingroup mobilized hundreds of contractors, with the peak of the project having about 3,000 workers and engineers working; with 800 - 1,000 machines and equipment mobilized from many localities, including large-capacity cranes from 300 - 500 tons, and super-heavy vehicles. The construction site also operated at maximum intensity, arranging 3 shifts of non-stop construction 24/7, optimizing every minute and second to achieve outstanding progress, shortening construction time by up to 60%.
In parallel with harmoniously solving the challenges between complex design, large structural systems and completion progress, Vingroup always closely follows each item, strictly inspects and supervises to ensure the safety, quality and sustainability of the project.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup Corporation said: "Being awarded the First Class Labor Medal on the occasion of the inauguration of the National Exhibition Fair Center is a great honor and pride for Vingroup staff. We pledge to continue to promote the spirit of not being afraid of difficulties - high determination and strong will to successfully operate the National Exhibition Fair Center, contributing to making Hanoi and Vietnam become the destination of leading political - economic - cultural - social events in the region and the world in the near future".
The National Exhibition and Fair Center has a scale of 90 hectares, in the top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world.
The National Exhibition and Fair Center is an exhibition complex with the largest scale and stature in the world. The centerpiece is the Kim Quy exhibition hall - the largest circular exhibition hall in the world with an area of about 130,000 m2, the height of the central area is up to 56m.
With its unique architecture, simulating the image of the Golden Turtle God - a mystical spirit associated with the legend of Co Loa - the Golden Turtle House is considered a new wonder of the Capital. The structure of the project is also particularly challenging, with a dome weighing up to 24,000 tons, made from super-long, super-heavy steel bars, connected by the highest strength bolts, using the tightening and cutting method to control quality, ensuring a safety factor twice as high as usual. Covering the steel dome is a super-light, super-durable fiberglass fabric material that is translucent and energy-saving, meeting global green architecture standards.
Along with Kim Quy Exhibition House, Vingroup also creates a diverse exhibition ecosystem with 4 outdoor courtyards (East - West - South - North), the international-class VinPalace Convention Center, green parks, water surfaces; super large parking lot... With a huge space, a maximum capacity of up to hundreds of thousands of people outdoors and thousands of people indoors, the National Exhibition and Fair Center not only ensures capacity for large-scale exhibitions but is also ready for large-scale events such as music festivals, national festivals, large-scale technology demonstrations..., meeting the most stringent standards from international organizers; at the same time, opening up a completely new approach for the exhibition - conference industry (MICE) in Vietnam.
One of the special motivations promoting the construction miracle of the National Exhibition Center is the National Achievement Exhibition - 80 years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness, recreating the country's development journey of nearly a century, which will take place from August 28, 2025 to September 5, 2025. This is the first time that all provinces, ministries, departments, branches and businesses nationwide have gathered in a national exhibition, expected to attract millions of visitors and together arouse national pride.
The rapid construction implementation to organize the special exhibition not only demonstrates Vingroup's strong financial potential, professional implementation capacity and effective project management ability; but also affirms the spirit of serving the Fatherland as well as the strong strength in the era of the rise of the Vietnamese private enterprise sector.
