In order to honor the contributions of social work, on the occasion of Social Work Day on March 25, 2025, the Department of Health of Ca Mau province organized a meeting to honor 30 outstanding individuals who have made many contributions to social work in the province.
Speaking to review the past journey of the Social Work profession, the leader of the Ca Mau Department of Health affirmed: Social Work Day is not only an opportunity to look back at the achievements, but also an opportunity to affirm the importance and significance of social work for the development of the country in general and the province in particular. Social workers are not only silent soldiers in supporting and helping people in difficulty, but they are also the ones who build solid bridges, helping vulnerable groups, especially the poor, the disabled, orphans, victims of domestic violence or those affected by other social issues.
In recent years, social workers have made important contributions to the process of building and developing the local economy and society. They not only help people in difficulty, but also bring faith, hope and opportunities to those who are facing difficulties in life.
Honoring the social work profession is also an opportunity to thank and show gratitude to all those who work in social work; your silent work is the solid bricks that build the foundation of a civilized, progressive and humane society.
Sharing her passion for the profession, Master, Doctor Ninh Thi Ly, Head of Social Work Department, Ca Mau Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital confided: “Social work is not only a job but also a mission that brings great meaning to life. Doing social work, we feel the joy of being able to help someone overcome difficult times, even if it is small, it has helped them have more faith in life, I understand that our work is truly meaningful”.
It is known that with programs such as: "Dedicated Tuesday", "Sharing Thursday", "Sowing seeds of love", "Warm spring greetings" ..., in recent years, Master, Doctor Ly and colleagues of Ca Mau Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital have made continuous efforts to connect resources, implement many meaningful support programs, mobilize the cooperation of organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to help children with special circumstances, support hospital fees, provide necessities and accompany families in the most difficult times. Thereby, not only bringing practical values but also spreading the spirit of humanity, helping Ca Mau Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital become a place that not only treats diseases but is also full of love. From those successes, Ca Mau Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital is one of the hospitals nationwide to participate in reporting and sharing experiences at the Social Work Conference recently organized by the Ministry of Health.
In addition to the achievements, challenges in social work still exist. Therefore, for social work to continue to develop, it requires the joint participation of the whole community and society, building a professional and effective working environment, bringing many career development opportunities for social workers.
