Vietnam Glory 2023: Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan - "Initiative Tree" of Lang Thuong Ward Police

Vietnam Glory 2023 - During more than 20 years of living and fighting in the grassroots police force, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of Lang Thuong Ward Police (Dong Da District, Hanoi) is one of the typical examples of the aspiration to contribute to the development of the country in accordance with the orientation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam .

Timely initiatives

In 2001, after graduating from the People's Police College, Mr. Tuan began working at the Criminal Police Team of Dong Da District Police. He successively held the positions of criminal police officer of Kham Thien Ward Police, local police officer of Kham Thien Ward, and Deputy Chief of Van Chuong Ward Police.

From 2015 to present, he is the Chief of Police of Lang Thuong Ward.

Lieutenant Colonel Tuan said that Lang Thuong ward has a large area, large population, many agencies, schools, large hospitals, and many potential problems related to security and order.

The area is large but the ward police only has 32 officers and soldiers. Therefore, to manage the area well, the ward police commander always tries to stay close to the base, grasp the area, promptly advise and propose solutions to effectively carry out all aspects of police work.

In particular, during the peak period of the Ministry of Public Security 's two campaigns of creating a National Population Database and Producing, Issuing and Managing ID Cards, the Lieutenant Colonel had many initiatives that were effectively applied.

Specifically: Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan advised and proposed to the leaders of Dong Da District Police to add one "station" computer to each CCCD issuance system along with the computer operation process, thereby increasing the efficiency of CCCD issuance and reducing people's waiting time.

The Lieutenant Colonel also directed the local police to digitize the list of citizens of ID card age in each residential area and neighborhood group for easy monitoring and mobilization; build software to automatically print invitations for citizens to get ID card; manage and evaluate the work efficiency of each local police officer...

Impressive achievements of Police Lieutenant Colonel

During his 8 years as Chief of Police of Lang Thuong Ward, Lieutenant Colonel Tuan directly participated in solving many major cases in the ward.

Lieutenant Colonel Tuan recounted that in July 2016, a murder case occurred in the ward that shocked public opinion. From this incident, through the review process, officers and soldiers of the ward police destroyed a network and gang of "black credit" that operated in an organized manner, possessed "hot" weapons, and were very reckless and thuggish.

Thereby contributing to reassuring public opinion, restoring peace to the people in the area because the ringleader has been prosecuted for many crimes: Murder, intentional infliction of injury, illegal possession of military weapons, illegal possession of narcotics, extortion, tax evasion...

Another case that the Lieutenant Colonel directly directed was in June 2019, the ward police received a report from a local hospital about someone suspected of making fake documents. Upon receiving the report, Lieutenant Colonel Tuan immediately directed officers to conduct verification. Through professional measures, when digging deeper into the investigation and fighting, Lieutenant Colonel Tuan and his teammates discovered a surrogacy ring.

Lieutenant Colonel Tuan said that many cases at the grassroots level, although discovered to be normal, need to be quick, resourceful, and dig deep to find out the cause, discover potential criminal elements, and contribute to the fight to arrest and clean up the area.

“The grassroots police force is the police force closest to the people, regularly in contact with the people. Therefore, I always command the ward police officers to be united and determined to serve the people best,” Lieutenant Colonel Tuan shared.

For the past 8 consecutive years, Lieutenant Colonel Tuan has been a "Basic Emulation Fighter". He has twice been awarded the title "Emulation Fighter of the entire Public Security Force", received the Third Class Military Exploit Medal from the President, a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, and received 8 Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Public Security and the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee...

In 2023, he was one of the "National Emulation Fighters" honored to receive the title from General To Lam - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security at the Conference to commend and honor advanced models in 2023.

Under his leadership, Lang Thuong Ward Police is the only ward-level unit that has been excellent and leading for 5 consecutive years, receiving the Emulation Flag from the Hanoi People's Committee.
