Vietnamese fighter achieves a resounding victory at the Lion Championship 17.

The 17th Lion Championship, recently held in Hanoi, witnessed two outstanding performances by Vietnamese fighters against their foreign opponents.

On the afternoon of September 8th, the 17th Lion Championship took place at the Tay Ho Gymnasium ( Hanoi ). The tournament had to be postponed by one day due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi).

In the main event, Vietnamese fighter Pham Thanh Ngan will face her Scottish opponent, Harry John Smith, in the 65kg weight class. Harry John Smith previously defeated Thanh Ngan in their debut at the LION Championship 06.

However, in this rematch, Thanh Ngan delivered an outstanding performance with precise punches to inflict damage on her Scottish opponent. The Vietnamese fighter successfully avenged her previous defeat, winning on points after 3 rounds.

In the previous match, Tran Ngoc Luong, a top fighter in the 60 kg category, competed against Felype Morais de Souza (Brazil) in a friendly match.

In the first round, Ngoc Luong continuously pressured his opponent with grappling moves to wear down his opponent's stamina. In the second round, Felype Morais surged ahead with close-range attacks and knee strikes, putting the Vietnamese representative at a significant disadvantage.

However, in the third round, Tran Ngoc Luong took advantage of his opponent's declining stamina, brought the fight to the ground, and finished him off with a series of ground-and-pound punches.

With his victory at the Lion Championship 17, Tran Ngoc Luong added another win to his professional record. He also announced his intention to aim for a rematch for the title against the reigning 60 kg champion, Robson Oliveira de Soares.

The next event in the tournament - LION Championship 18 - will take place on October 12th at Tay Ho Gymnasium (Hanoi), promising the participation of many high-quality fighters from the top rankings.
