In the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers, Vietnam U23 will be in the same group with Singapore U23, Yemen U23 and Bangladesh U23. Among these three opponents, Bangladesh is a rather unfamiliar name to Vietnam U23 and they have never participated in the AFC U23 Championship before.

So what kind of team is U23 Bangladesh? According to information from Rupali Bangladesh, U23 Bangladesh currently has a fairly high-quality squad and they aim to win a ticket to the final round of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship for the first time.

To prepare for this campaign, coach Saiful Bari has called up many experienced stars, including 13 players currently playing for the Bangladesh national team. But the most notable are the four Cuban naturalized players: Mitchell, Tanil Salik, Fahamedul Islam and Zayan Ahmed.

This makes U23 Bangladesh full of confidence to create a surprise against Vietnam. Striker Sheikh Morshalin said: "We want to win all three matches. We came to Vietnam to win. Everyone in the team is very excited. We have many veteran players in the team and have the reinforcement of Cuba, Salik and Zayan. We are mentally ready."

Currently, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team and the opponents in Group C are all present in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ) to prepare for the tournament. Tomorrow, September 2, the teams will attend a press conference before competing. The goal of U23 Vietnam is to top the group to win a ticket to the final round of U23 Asia 2026.
