V-League 2025-2026 Round 20: Which team will stumble?

Both Hanoi Police FC and The Cong - Viettel FC will play tonight, April 26th, against weaker opponents. Therefore, whichever team slips up will make the top of the table more exciting after round 20.

A surprise at Hang Day Stadium?

League leaders Hanoi Police FC (CAHN FC) host Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) at home, hoping to secure their place in the V-League. The consistent performance of the police team has led many spectators to believe that CAHN FC has one hand on the V-League championship trophy.

The gap between Coach Polking's team and the top two is 7 points with 7 rounds remaining. The fact that CAHN FC has won 4 out of their last 5 matches has put pressure on chasing teams like The Cong and Viettel . The biggest hope now is that the teams below them can spring a surprise against CAHN FC.

That faith is placed in the team from Nghe An province. SLNA has been playing very well since taking over as coach Van Sy Son. The coach from Nghe An made his debut with his hometown team with a 1-1 draw against CAHN in round 7 in October 2025. Choosing his approach to the game is a strong point of Coach Son.

"CAHN's strength is irresistible. However, SLNA hasn't finished its mission yet, so it has to cherish every point. Football is unpredictable, just like SLNA drew with CAHN on my debut," Coach Van Sy Son praised the home team and set a specific goal.

In this match, CAHN will be without Phan Văn Đức, a former player from Nghe An province, due to accumulating three yellow cards. Meanwhile, SLNA will be without center-back Hoàng Văn Khánh because of a red card received in round 19.

Strive for yourself.

Before waiting for CAHN to slip up, The Cong - Viettel needs to defeat Da Nang FC at Chi Lang Stadium in the match taking place at 6 PM. Three points would not only put pressure on the league leaders but also help coach Velizar Popov's team maintain their second place position with 41 points.

Coach Popov had to sit in the stands for the second match to direct tactics due to a four-match suspension. This did not significantly affect the team's performance. The Cong - Viettel maintained their seven-match unbeaten streak, including six wins and one draw.

However, this number doesn't tell the whole story. In their two previous away matches against Da Nang FC, The Cong - Viettel both ended in draws (1-1 and 0-0). This would be unacceptable for Coach Popov in the current circumstances. Furthermore, Coach Le Duc Tuan's team is currently on a very poor run of form with four consecutive losses.

While The Cong and Viettel are striving to be at the top of the table, Da Nang FC is also struggling at the bottom. Coach Le Duc Tuan needs points to keep his promise to help Da Nang avoid relegation. The most urgent thing now is that they cannot afford another loss, as the gap with the team above them is only 1 point.

The other match on April 26th, also taking place at 6 PM, is between the home team Hong Linh Ha Tinh (23 points) and Ho Chi Minh City Police Club (26 points).

Live broadcast schedule for Round 20, April 26th:

- 6 PM: Hong Linh Ha Tinh vs. Ho Chi Minh City Police Club (FPT Play, VTV5).

- 6 PM: Da Nang - The Cong Viettel (FPT Play, TV360+9, TV360+3).

- 7:15 PM: Hanoi Police Club vs. Song Lam Nghe An (FPT Play, VTV7, TV360).
