According to the reports of insurance companies sent to the Department of Insurance Management and Supervision, as of July 31, the total amount of compensation and insurance payments in the capsized ship Vinh Xanh 58 in Ha Long Bay ( Quang Ninh ) is expected to be about 23.4 billion VND.
In particular, in the field of non-life insurance, the total expected insurance compensation is 3.3 billion VND. Specifically, for civil liability insurance of ship owners to passengers and crew accident insurance (provided by Bao Long), the expected compensation is 1.2 billion VND.

For passenger accident insurance (co-insured by Bao Viet with PTI, MIC and BSH), the expected payment is 1.1 billion VND. For credit insurance (AAA), the expected compensation is 1 billion VND.
In the life insurance sector, the total expected insurance payment is 20.1 billion VND (Bao Viet Life 1.2 billion VND, Generali 6.25 billion VND, Manulife 7.63 billion VND, Dai-ichi 720 million VND, Prudential 230 million VND, AIA 4.04 billion VND, Shinhan 80 million VND).
At 12:55 on July 19, the Blue Bay 58 boat was carrying 49 people, including 46 tourists and 3 crew members, on a tour of route 2 in Ha Long Bay (including Sung Sot Cave - Ti Top Island). At 13:30 on the same day, the boat encountered strong winds and then capsized. The incident killed 39 out of 49 people on board, 10 were rescued. |
