After the press reported that hundreds of parents "called for help" because an English center collected money and then closed, the Departmentof Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent a quick report to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and coordinated with the police to investigate and clarify the case.
According to the report, the Australian Language Center (address 182-184-186 Le Van Viet, Tang Nhon Phu B Ward) and the Australian Language Center 1 (address 729-731 Kha Van Can, Linh Tay Ward) in Thu Duc City were both established and licensed to operate education in 2023. The director of both centers is Ms. Tran My Ngoc (term 2023-2028), and the investor is Mr. Ho Dang Duy, Director of Duy Khang Education - Training Company Limited.

As of the first quarter of 2025, the two centers are still operating normally with a total of 26 classes and more than 300 students. The units have made periodic reports and attended training sessions organized by the Department of Education and Training. Both have no foreign teachers, only Vietnamese teachers and staff.
It is worth noting that the Department of Education and Training said it had never received any reports about the suspension of operations of these two centers. Information about the “investors fleeing” has not been officially reported by the centers.
Immediately after receiving information from the press, on May 15 and 16, the Department proactively transferred the legal documents of the two centers to the Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC03), and worked directly with the police of Linh Tay and Tang Nhon Phu B wards - where the centers are located.
According to confirmation from the local police, the unit has received many petitions from parents regarding the center's closure. The files are currently being consolidated to be transferred to the Investigation Police Agency - Ho Chi Minh City Police for handling and investigation.
While waiting for the investigation results, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training is also reviewing evidence to suspend educational activities for both centers, and at the same time recommending that the City Police revoke the seals in accordance with regulations.
The Department of Education and Training said it will continue to work closely with the city police and local police to monitor the situation. The department also organizes citizen receptions to receive information and guide parents to submit petitions to competent authorities for resolution.
The Department also proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee direct the police to continue monitoring the case, ensuring security and order in the area and providing necessary information to handle violations.
In recent days, many parents in Ho Chi Minh City have reported that the Australian International English Center has closed and the director has gone missing after they paid tuition for their children to study there. The incident only came to light when parents received messages from the center’s staff via class groups, informing them that they had been unable to contact the director for several days.
Currently, the website of the Australian English Center has stopped working, only displaying information about the domain name owner.
