The press conference in early Spring of Giap Thin 2024 of Naval Region 3 took place in Da Nang city. The report presented at the Conference stated: In 2023, the Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 3 led and directed agencies and units to successfully complete military and defense tasks, with many outstanding tasks. The Command of the Region proactively grasped the situation, provided accurate and timely advice to the Service on military and defense tasks, and successfully handled situations at sea. Excellently completed the task of being the core in managing and firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland and defense diplomacy, contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment in the sea areas managed by the Region to build and develop the country.

Effectively implementing the program "The Navy is a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea" (distributing 180 sets of documents and leaflets; 800 national flags, 170 life jackets and lifebuoys; sponsoring 12 children of fishermen in difficult circumstances). Mobilizing social resources, taking care of the lives of officers and soldiers in the unit and people on the outpost islands of Con Co and Ly Son (worth more than 2.7 billion VND), contributing to improving the living conditions, helping officers, soldiers and people overcome all difficulties and hardships to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Organizing 04 search and rescue operations; mobilizing 110 officers and soldiers, using 04 ships. Results: Rescued 02 fishing boats/12 workers, rescued 04 fishermen of Thua Thien Hue; Received and handed over 83 fishermen on 2 Quang Nam fishing boats that had an accident at sea. Extinguished 03 forest fires (06 hectares).
Successfully completed the mission of transporting 03 working delegations to visit and inspect the Truong Sa archipelago and DKI platform; Participate in international multilateral activities within the framework of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2023 in Malaysia; 4th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK-4) in Makassar, South Sulawesi province, Indonesia and participate in the Multilateral Naval Exercise in India (Milan 2024) combined with a friendship visit to Malaysia.
During the year, the Region was awarded 02 Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of National Defense for its outstanding achievements in participating in the Creative Youth Award in the Army; outstanding achievements in training the Standing Militia Squadron for the period 2019-2023. Participating in competitions and sports events organized by the Ministry of National Defense and the Navy, it achieved many high achievements: 10 First prizes, 20 Second prizes, 32 Third prizes. There were 92 collectives and 171 individuals awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of National Defense and the Navy Command in the preliminary and final summaries of tasks, competitions, sports events, emulation periods, and extraordinary tasks. Summarizing the 2023 Determined to Win emulation movement, the Region was awarded the Flag of the leading unit in the Determined to Win emulation movement by the Ministry of National Defense and 02 units were awarded the Emulation Flag by the Navy Command.
The coordination of press propaganda work always ensures the correct principles and purposes, promptly reflects the activities of the Region, contributes to encouraging, motivating and motivating cadres and soldiers to be steadfast at the forefront, firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. In 2023, the Region coordinated and created conditions for over 100 reporters from press agencies to infiltrate and collect materials to write propaganda news and articles. The result: there were over 1,300 news, articles, photos and propaganda reports.
Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien affirmed that the results achieved in all aspects of work by the Region have been accompanied, supported and given important support by press agencies and agencies, organizations and enterprises inside and outside the military. The Political Commissar of Region 3 expressed his hope that the management agencies, news agencies, central press and departments, ministries, branches, localities, and journalists will continue to pay attention to and accompany the Navy Region 3; coordinate in propagating the sea and islands, widely spreading the image and activities of the Navy to departments, ministries, branches and people of all walks of life nationwide.

On this occasion, to recognize the contributions of the team of reporters in coordinating propaganda work on sea and islands between Naval Region 3 and provinces and cities in the Central region in 2023, the Head of the Region Command presented Certificates of Merit to 16 reporters.
The Command of Region 3 also presented gifts and 50 national flags, 30 round buoys, and 30 life jackets to 30 fishermen of Tho Quang fishing port and encouraged, visited, and presented gifts to 2 sponsored children of fishermen.
