On average, each year, the provincial Border Guard organizes thousands of patrols, ambushes, interceptions, propaganda against smuggling, and prevention of all types of crimes, including drug crimes and human trafficking... The entire force deploys tens of thousands of interception and ambush teams with sufficient forces and means to promptly detect, combat, and handle hundreds of cases and thousands of subjects violating territorial sovereignty and national border security.

Notably, over the past 5 years, the Border Guard of An Giang province has proactively coordinated with other forces, authorities and specialized agencies to carry out many major projects, destroying many large-scale, organized drug and illegal military weapons trafficking and transportation rings.

The authorities arrested many subjects, seized many types of drugs, handled thousands of smuggling cases, seized hundreds of thousands of foreign cigarette packs, tens of thousands of tons of DO oil and many other valuable goods. In addition, they handled many cases of organizing illegal immigration and emigration, violating border regulations; arrested wanted subjects, disturbing public order, violating the exploitation of aquatic and marine products...

Mass mobilization work has always been of interest with many specific and practical tasks for people, officers and soldiers in border areas. Through programs, the unit has mobilized groups, individuals, social organizations, philanthropists, and businesses inside and outside the province to organize medical examinations, give free medicine, visit and give gifts, build houses, build roads for people, light up the border, build new advanced rural areas...

Thanks to these meaningful programs, thousands of new, spacious houses have sprung up in the border, islands, remote areas. Dozens of kilometers of patrol roads and inter-hamlet roads have been lit up with electricity. Thousands of poor children on both sides of the border can go to school, bringing joy to hundreds of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and lonely elderly people...

Promoting the intelligence, pioneering spirit and creativity of the youth, the team of youth union members, young men and women in the border force has proactively coordinated with local youth union branches to develop many action programs towards the border, sea and islands. Youth union members have planted tens of thousands of trees along the border, islands and patrol routes; collected tens of thousands of tons of waste from coastal areas, residential areas and fishing villages.

Cultural, sports , exchange, sports festival, performance, playground activities... are continuously organized, creating a joyful, warm and affectionate atmosphere between the border guards and the authorities and people in the border, sea and island areas. The images of teachers, doctors, cultural propaganda officers wearing green uniforms, the sound of border station loudspeakers, and zero-dong stalls deployed by provincial border guards have become familiar to the people in the border villages and hamlets.

Over the past 5 years, the provincial border guards have also been assigned the main responsibility in implementing the task of combating IUU fishing. With a spirit of determination, resoluteness, initiative and high responsibility, officers and soldiers have mobilized human resources, means and equipment to support the task; focusing on patrolling, controlling and propagating, mobilizing fishermen to comply with legal regulations, thereby detecting, arresting and handling thousands of IUU fishing cases, seizing many journey monitoring devices, electric shocks and explosives.

Over the past 5 years, the Border Guard of An Giang province has been recognized by the Party, the State and leaders at all levels with many noble awards. Thousands of collectives and individuals have been commended and awarded. These results have enhanced the image of the green-uniformed soldiers in the cause of protecting sovereignty and border security in the new revolutionary period.
