From October until now, the orange orchards in Van Son, Thao Nguyen, and Moc Son wards have been laden with ripe, juicy, golden oranges, standing out against the green foliage and creating a vibrant natural landscape that attracts many tourists. |
The gentle scent of oranges carried on the breeze makes visitors feel relaxed and comfortable. Thanks to meticulous organic farming practices, many orange orchards on the Moc Chau plateau yield tens of tons of consistently high-quality, sweet, and juicy fruit each year. |
Mr. Vu Quang Kien, a resident of Moc Chau, shared that since 2022, recognizing the potential of experiential tourism, locals have proactively opened their orchards to welcome visitors at reasonable fees. The development of agriculture combined with tourism has quickly yielded clear results. Orange orchards have become more widely known, sales have increased significantly, and prices have stabilized. |
On peak weekends, this place can welcome over a thousand visitors. Many tourists, after enjoying the oranges on the spot, often buy several dozen kilograms to take home as gifts. |
Mr. Kien shared that the people of Moc Chau currently grow varieties of oranges such as Ly oranges, Canh oranges, and V2 oranges. During the season, the orchards are adorned with a vibrant yellow coat, stretching across the hillsides, creating a space that is both poetic and full of life. |
Here, visitors can freely stroll around, take photos, observe the orange cultivation process, and experience picking ripe, juicy oranges themselves. What many find most enjoyable is tasting oranges right from the tree, a fresh, sweet sensation hard to find elsewhere. Ms. Le Tran Quynh Anh, a visitor from Hanoi , shared her surprise at the scale and beauty of the orange orchards on the plateau. For her, standing amidst the vibrant fruit, feeling the crisp coolness of early winter, and admiring the clusters of golden oranges under the sun was a precious experience. |
Besides attracting tourists, the orange season in Moc Chau is also a time when professional photographers flock to the area. The naturally beautiful orchards, combined with the gentle morning sunlight, create an ideal backdrop for memorable photos. Vu Quang Kien shared that the best time to take pictures is in the morning. Light-toned, gentle clothing will stand out against the orange-yellow background; adding a few accessories like a basket of oranges... is enough to create truly poetic photos. |
To date, Moc Chau has over 60 hectares of orange groves, mainly concentrated in Van Son, Thao Nguyen, and Moc Son wards. The majority of the area is cultivated organically, using bio-fertilizers, hydrolyzed nitrogen, and biological preparations to ensure safety for consumers and environmental friendliness. The orange season usually begins in mid-October and lasts until the end of January the following year, becoming an important highlight on the Moc Chau agricultural tourism map. |
A stop at an orange orchard is almost indispensable for tours of Moc Chau at the end of the year, as it offers an authentic experience of local agriculture. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Moc Chau Ward People's Committee, said that the model combining clean agriculture and experiential tourism not only helps increase the value of agricultural products but also opens up a sustainable development direction for the locality. |
