(CPV) - According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, if FPT wants to achieve long-term and sustainable success, it must follow the development trend of Saudi Arabia; refer to the thinking, breakthrough vision, and strategy of Saudi Arabia to surpass itself and successfully cooperate in investment.

On the occasion of attending the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference (FII8) and visiting and working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on October 30 (local time), in the capital Riyadh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony of the headquarters and opening of the FPT Group Middle East Office in Saudi Arabia.
The opening of FPT Corporation's Middle East office is part of the Corporation's global expansion strategy to meet the growing demand for digital services and solutions worldwide. This is the first time a Vietnamese enterprise has been granted a license to open a regional office in Saudi Arabia, affirming FPT's commitment to the country's digital transformation with Vision 2030.
With a global network and extensive experience in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, digital transformation, green transformation, manufacturing, banking, government, transportation, etc., FPT will increase its presence, connect with customers and partners, and improve service quality throughout the Middle East region.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that after 25 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, the relationship has developed very well, but economic relations have not yet matched the political and diplomatic relations and the aspirations of the people of the two countries.
Expressing his concerns about this, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that it is necessary to strongly promote economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries so that the two economies can connect and complement each other for mutual development, including specific projects.
The Prime Minister welcomed FPT's opening of a regional office, cooperation in training human resources, developing and launching products in which FPT has strengths, and thanked the agencies and friends of Saudi Arabia for supporting and helping FPT to operate here.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared the view that “resources come from thinking, motivation comes from innovation, strength comes from people”, time and intelligence are also important resources to create success.
According to the Prime Minister, if FPT wants to achieve long-term, sustainable success and create synergy, it must follow Saudi Arabia's development trends of digital economy, green economy, circular economy, sharing economy, knowledge economy, emerging industries related to AI, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. At the same time, FPT needs to operate in compliance with the law, harmonize the interests of the State, people and businesses, contribute to social activities; refer to the thinking, breakthrough vision and strategy of Saudi Arabia to surpass itself, successfully cooperate in investment, contribute to the strong and prosperous development of each country and the happiness and prosperity of the people of the two countries.

* Earlier the same morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Sultan Al-Marshad, Executive Director of the Saudi Arabia Fund for Development (SFD) - the financial agency of the Saudi Arabian Government; to date, it has funded more than 800 projects and development programs in various fields in 100 countries.
In Vietnam, the Fund has provided preferential loans for 12 projects, with a total capital of about 160 million USD, ranging from construction and expansion of educational and medical facilities to construction of traffic routes and renovation of infrastructure affected by natural disasters in rural areas.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated SFD's provision of preferential loans for projects in Vietnam in the past time, hoping that SFD will continue to support and invest in Vietnam on par with the Fund's potential and role, focusing on large projects, with more focus, larger scale, more important fields, simpler procedures and greater incentives than previous projects.
The Prime Minister suggested that SFD promote both direct and indirect investment in Vietnam in areas such as strategic transport infrastructure such as seaports, transit airports, high-speed railways, subways, digital transformation, green transformation, climate change response, solar energy projects, wind power, LNG, data centers, innovation, AI projects, cloud computing, Internet of Things, etc.
For his part, SFD leaders highly appreciated the vision and development policies of the Vietnamese Government, wished to continue to create conditions for the Fund to operate effectively in Vietnam; committed to devoting more resources to projects in Vietnam and affirmed the honor of becoming a strategic partner of Vietnam; said that in December, they will send a working delegation to Vietnam to continue to study and implement specific cooperation projects.
Welcoming the SFD’s proposals, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the SFD soon send a working delegation and work with Vietnamese ministries and sectors to promote the continued implementation of projects that bring about substantial results, thereby contributing to further strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia./.
