In just 25 days, the 2023 Women's World Cup, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, will officially kick off.
From early morning on June 25, thousands of female football fans were present at the Sydney Harbour Bridge - the most iconic landmark of Sydney (Australia) - to participate in the countdown event to the official opening ceremony of the 2023 World Cup. They carried their country's flags and banners, marched in groups, walked along the bridge, cheered and supported their football team or their favorite teams.
The Vietnamese fans, led by the Vietnamese Consul General in New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia, Nguyen Dang Thang, held the flag and arrived early in the morning. Everyone was happy and proud to wear the red shirt with yellow star or the ao dai, holding the national flag in their hands and joining the parade, their faces shining with pride, joy and extreme happiness when for the first time the Vietnamese women's football team was present in the women's world cup finals.

The atmosphere was vibrant and bustling with the pounding of drums, folk dances to lively music, and performances imbued with the cultures of the 32 countries participating in this tournament.
The 2023 World Cup Organising Committee and Destination New South Wales, the state’s tourism and major events agency, said the event would also celebrate football, different cultures and communities, with a strong and colourful display of unity and inclusion. “Football unites the world and Sydney Harbour Bridge will be the perfect backdrop to bring together and unite communities, delivering an engaging and unique experience, while marking a landmark moment for women’s sport ,” said FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura.

Australia is ready for a successful World Cup.
Sharing her feelings when witnessing the Vietnamese team participating in the World Cup for the first time, Ms. Rhiannon Martin said: “I feel great and excited about the presence of Vietnam. Although the Vietnamese team is in a very difficult group, everything may not be easy, but the way the coach unites the players and promotes team spirit may bring goals. We are waiting for those unexpected moments.”
In the bustling, exciting and enthusiastic atmosphere, fans of the countries participating in the 2023 World Cup expressed their excitement, enthusiasm and great hope. A group of American fans expressed their excitement when they were present at the Sydney Harbor Bridge. They shared that they had come here very early to cheer for the US women's soccer team and women's soccer in general, and wanted to share the joy and happiness with international friends to welcome a major event of world sports.
The Spanish fans could not hide their excitement in what they called a “wonderful” atmosphere of a major football festival, with flags and shirts of various colors creating a colorful picture. They expressed their hope that their country’s women’s football team would win the championship.
Filipino fans also expressed their excitement and joy at being able to stand alongside fans from other countries in a warm and vibrant atmosphere despite the cold and windy weather. Meanwhile, Zambian fans could not hide their excitement and pride as the Zambian women's football team participated in the World Cup for the first time.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese fans expressed their love and admiration for the "golden girls" of the country's football. Pham Huu Hung, who claims to be a loyal fan of the Vietnamese women's football team, said: "I think that no matter what the results are, the women's football team are champions in the hearts of all Vietnamese people."
The 2023 World Cup will take place from 20 July to 20 August, with Sydney hosting at least 11 matches, including the opening match between Australia and the Republic of Ireland and the final a month later. Other Australian cities hosting matches are Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, along with Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin and Hamilton in New Zealand.
