Dan Tien Commune receives the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces

On May 17, Dan Tien commune (Khoai Chau) solemnly held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the resistance war against French colonialism. Right from the beginning of the 19th century, responding to the Can Vuong Proclamation of patriotic scholars, many children of Dan Tien homeland participated in the Bai Say uprising against French colonialism. After the Communist Party of Vietnam was born, promoting the tradition of their homeland, the people of Dan Tien commune always had absolute faith in the leadership of the Party, joining hands and hearts with the people of the whole country to determine to gain independence and freedom...

During the years of resistance against French colonialism, the People and Armed Forces of Dan Tien commune participated in many battles, killed and wounded hundreds of enemies, captured 54, seized hundreds of guns of various types, destroyed on the spot 1 tank, 5 military cars and destroyed many other enemy military equipment and supplies.

During the period of resistance against the US to save the country, with the slogan “All for the South, all to defeat the American invaders”, the people and armed forces of the commune fought bravely and steadfastly, achieved outstanding feats; contributed a lot of human and material resources to the southern front. The whole commune had 863 young people joining the army, 53 young volunteers, 90% of the families in the commune had relatives joining the army; mobilized to support the southern battlefield nearly 3 thousand tons of food, 760 tons of food.

When the US bombed and destroyed the North, the commune's military force participated in dozens of battles, helping missile units stationed in the area shoot down 12 US planes, contributing to the whole country's defeat of the US imperialists' destructive war in the North, leading to the glorious victory on April 30, 1975, reuniting the country.

Promoting the revolutionary tradition of the homeland, the Party Committee, government and people of Dan Tien commune continue to unite, overcome difficulties, promote production development, and build an increasingly better life for the people... In 2024, the total revenue in the area is estimated at 998 billion VND; the economic structure will shift strongly towards industry - handicrafts - construction, trade and services, high-tech agriculture; the commune will meet advanced new rural standards in 2024.

In recognition of these achievements, the Party and State have awarded the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of Dan Tien commune many Resistance Medals, Labor Medals, emulation flags and certificates of merit. In Decision No. 130/QD-CTN dated January 23, 2025, the President conferred the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces on the People and Armed Forces of Dan Tien commune "For their exceptionally outstanding achievements in the resistance war against the French colonialists".
