The 1st Congress of the Dien Khanh Commune Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, affirmed the goal and direction of building Dien Khanh into a ward by 2030, an "ecological urban area, traditional culture" in line with the general planning orientation of the province for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 and the General Planning of Dien Khanh urban area to 2040. At the same time, the commune also closely follows the orientation of focusing on developing the pillars of economic growth drivers associated with the potential and advantages of the locality according to Resolution No. 01, dated July 14, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee on double-digit economic growth in the period 2025 - 2030.

Dien Khanh urban area is shaped with 3 focuses: Preserving and promoting heritage values; planning sustainable ecological urban space; digital transformation and green technology in urbanization. Mr. Nguyen Van Dong - Party Secretary, Chairman of Dien Khanh Commune People's Council said that, identifying historical and cultural relics as the "soul" of the urban area, Dien Khanh is actively coordinating with provincial departments and branches to implement the project of restoring and renovating important relics, especially Dien Khanh Citadel. From there, develop tours and tourist routes from Dien Khanh Citadel to neighboring relics such as: Temple of Literature, Trinh Phong Temple, Tran Quy Cap Temple, Chua Temple, Suoi Tien, Suoi Do... Along with that, the locality promotes intangible cultural values ​​such as rice paper making, bronze casting..., creating OCOP products to serve tourism and service development; Restore and preserve traditional festivals, craft villages, and agricultural ecological zones in the planning to create a harmonious living space, balancing the modern and the traditional.

Dien Khanh is implementing the General Urban Planning until 2040, oriented towards development according to the green, multi-center urban model. The areas around the ancient citadel are planned to become cultural - administrative centers; Vo Nguyen Giap roads, the two banks of Cai River become commercial - service spaces, riverside parks, and tourist urban areas. By 2030, Dien Khanh strives to become a new urban area, an attractive ecological - historical destination. With the determination and consensus of the entire political system and the people, Dien Khanh will successfully achieve its development goals, soon becoming an ecological urban area imbued with traditional cultural identity.
