Hon Nghe Commune needs to effectively exploit the potential and strengths of the marine and island economy.

On August 20, the Party Committee of Hon Nghe commune held the first Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Director of An Giang Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thong Nhat attended and directed the congress.

Speaking at the congress, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thong Nhat acknowledged, praised, highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements that the Party Committee and people of Hon Nghe commune achieved in the past term.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, comrade Nguyen Thong Nhat suggested that the Party Committee of Hon Nghe commune pay attention to Party building and the political system, improve the leadership capacity, fighting strength of the Party organization and the quality of activities of the People's Council and People's Committee; streamline the apparatus, reform administration, promote the Front and mass organizations to participate in social supervision and criticism.

The commune promotes economic development, science, technology, and environmental protection. Plans and develops sustainable exploitation and aquaculture; promotes ecotourism and community tourism; applies science, technology, digital transformation, encourages startups; raises public awareness of marine environmental protection.

Hon Nghe is an island commune, playing the role of an outpost and gateway at sea, located in the middle of the Rach Gia - Phu Quoc maritime route. In the next 5 years, the Party Committee of Hon Nghe commune will focus on effectively exploiting the potential and strengths of the marine and island economy, developing tourism and sustainable aquaculture; converting crops and diversifying suitable livestock to increase production value.

The Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee appointed 20 comrades to join the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Hon Nghe commune; 7 comrades to join the Standing Committee; appointed comrade Ta Minh Tai to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Hon Nghe commune for the 2025-2030 term.
