BTO - Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited has announced that it will regulate water flow through the Phan Dung reservoir spillway (Tuy Phong). The regulation will begin at 3 PM on August 4th with a flow rate of 8 m³/s. After 9 PM on the same day, depending on the inflow to the reservoir and the downstream situation, the flow rate will be increased to 10-100 m³/s.
To avoid property damage to people in the affected area, the company requests the Tuy Phong District People's Committee to promptly inform the people along the Phan Dung reservoir's flood discharge route so that they can take safe preventive measures.
It is known that in recent days, the upstream area has experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in a large volume of water flowing into Phan Dung Lake. As of 7:00 AM on August 4th, the water level in Phan Dung Lake was at an elevation of +205.48 meters and is continuing to rise rapidly. According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydrometeorology, rain will continue in the province in the coming days. Water regulation is being implemented to ensure the safety of the structure and reduce flooding in downstream areas in the event of heavy rainfall.
