QTO - On the morning of October 4, the government and people of Tan My commune simultaneously launched an environmental sanitation campaign in residential areas in the commune, responding to "New Rural Area - Civilized Urban Area Day". This is a meaningful activity to welcome the 1st Quang Tri Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

From early morning, a large number of cadres and people in the villages actively participated in cleaning the environment of village roads, alleys, residential areas, and offices. Cleaning the area of ​​the martyrs' cemetery, historical sites in the commune, clearing bushes, unclogging sewers, collecting garbage; decorating the grounds of the cultural house, and taking care of trees on the roads. A special highlight of this campaign in 26 villages is that the People's Committee of Tan Thuy commune supported all the funding to replace the national flag, party flag, and banners with slogans to welcome the provincial party congress.

Mr. Tran Van Sang, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan My Commune, said: “This is a regular activity, demonstrating the sense of responsibility of each citizen in building a green, clean and beautiful living environment. After many years of maintaining the model of “New Rural Day - Civilized Urban Area”, the movement has truly entered life, creating a new cultural beauty in the locality, contributing practically to maintaining the criteria of advanced new rural areas”.

Tan My commune is a locality merged from Tan Thuy, Duong Thuy, Thai Thuy and My Thuy communes of Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province (old). It is known that since 2018, Le Thuy district is the first locality in Quang Binh province to have the initiative to organize "New Rural - Civilized Urban Day", on the first and third Sundays of every month to maintain and improve the quality of new rural construction criteria.

Accordingly, all communes simultaneously launched campaigns with specific tasks related to the contents and criteria of new rural construction, such as: rural environmental sanitation; clearing village roads and alleys; dredging sewers, ditches; canals serving production; planting and caring for trees on both sides of roads and in the grounds of cultural houses; building sports fields in villages; supporting the lonely, the elderly, and the poor in production, building houses, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quang, Head of the Youth Volunteers Association of Tan My Commune, shared: “For us, participating in the New Rural Day - Civilized Urban Area has become a habit, an indispensable part. This movement has really changed the face of the locality; the roads and alleys are much cleaner and more beautiful. After nearly 7 years of launching, the movement has aroused community awareness, making everyone feel responsible for maintaining public hygiene, together building increasingly cleaner and more civilized villages.”
