Van Binh commune effectively promotes security and order work

In order to effectively implement the movement of All People Protecting National Security, in recent times, Van Binh commune (Van Ninh district) has focused on building and implementing security and order models suitable to the local situation. Thanks to that, violations of social order have been increasingly reduced, and crime prevention and combat have been well implemented.

To contribute to ensuring local security and order, in 2012, the Tu Chanh village security shock team was established with 10 members, including: police officers, village chiefs, representatives of branches, associations, youth unions, veterans, militia and self-defense forces and people. After the grassroots security and order protection team was established, the shock team was reorganized and renamed the "People's patrol team" model with 7 members. The core force of the model is local people who voluntarily participate. The team patrols from 10 p.m. the previous day to 4 a.m. the next day, depending on the time and situation in the village. In particular, it focuses on hot spots with complex security and order risks. Joining hands with the night patrol force, people in the village contribute to support the team's food and travel expenses. Mr. Pham Van Minh - Head of Tu Chanh village said that the people themselves participate in protecting security and order in the locality, so they will understand the situation and grasp the area. Everyone joins hands to carry out patrols to keep the village peaceful. The group regularly coordinates with the Security and Order Protection Group at the grassroots level to maintain and ensure security and order in the area.

Since 2020, the commune has deployed the "Security Camera" model in 7 villages. Currently, the model has 34 cameras implemented with local funds and contributions from the people. The cameras are installed at intersections; on National Highway 1; inter-village and inter-commune roads... The monitoring screen is placed at the workplace of the Commune Police for operation and monitoring. The camera system has helped the Commune Police handle many cases of theft, illegal drug trafficking, fighting conflicts, and support in investigating cases... Most recently, in November 2024, the camera system supported the police force in investigating a prisoner who escaped while being treated at Van Ninh District General Hospital. Through camera extraction in Van Binh commune, the police force saw the subject taking a car to Phu Yen province. Thanks to that, the police of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces coordinated to capture the subject after about 10 hours on the run.

On the other hand, Van Binh commune has stepped up the consolidation of the security and order protection force at the grassroots level with 5 members/team. These teams not only support the implementation of the Project on developing the application of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve the national digital transformation in the period of 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 of the Government (Project 06), but also work with the Commune Police to patrol and guard to ensure security and order during holidays, Tet, events, etc. Thanks to the effective promotion of the above models, in 2024, Van Binh Commune Police discovered 3 cases of property theft; 1 case, 1 subject possessed rudimentary weapons and seized 1 homemade metal knife; 3 cases of buying, selling, and organizing illegal use of drugs; discovered and handled 14 subjects with illegal drug use; busted 2 gambling cases; arrested 1 wanted subject; handle 2 traffic accidents…

Van Binh commune also implemented 4 public fire fighting points located in the villages: Trung Dong 1, Trung Dong 2, Binh Trung 2. At the same time, direct propaganda, through the loudspeaker system, hanging banners... to help people understand the regulations on fire prevention and fighting; mobilize people to buy 700 fire extinguishers to place in households; check households with businesses to ensure full conditions on fire prevention and fighting...

Mr. Tran Ngoc Chien - Chairman of Van Binh Commune People's Committee said that thanks to the implementation of models in the movement of All People Protecting National Security, the political security situation, social order and safety in the locality have been ensured; the work of preventing and fighting crimes is increasingly effective. With the achieved results, in 2024, the Provincial Police awarded certificates of merit to the people and cadres of Van Binh commune for their outstanding achievements in implementing the movement.
