After the FIFA matches that took place last night and this morning, FIFA has determined three more teams to participate in the 2026 World Cup. In Asia, Australia is the last team to win a ticket to participate in the tournament held in the US, Mexico and Canada through the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia.

The Kangaroo team only needed to avoid a heavy defeat against Saudi Arabia in the final match to qualify. They did better than that when they won 2-1 against the West Asian team.
Thus, up to this point, the 6 teams that have won tickets to the World Cup in Asia have been determined to be South Korea, Jordan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Japan and Australia.
The final two direct spots will be determined through the fourth qualifying round. The third and fourth-placed teams in the third qualifying round (Indonesia, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq) will be divided into two groups of three teams each. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the World Cup. The two runners-up will compete in the fifth qualifying round to determine Asia's representative for the Intercontinental Play-offs.
In South America, Brazil and Ecuador are the latest teams to qualify for the 2026 World Cup after Argentina. In this morning's match, Brazil won 1-0 against Paraguay, while Ecuador drew 0-0 with Peru.

Currently, Ecuador and Brazil have 25 points, 7 points more than 7th place Venezuela with only two rounds left in the qualifying round.
Previously, in the Oceania region, New Zealand had secured a ticket after defeating New Caledonia in the final. In previous tournaments, Oceania only had half a ticket, so New Zealand had to participate in the Intercontinental play-off round. However, in the 2026 World Cup, this region has 1 ticket.
Along with that, the three host teams USA, Canada, and Mexico all automatically have tickets to attend the 2026 World Cup.
Thus, up to now, FIFA has identified 13 teams participating in the 2026 World Cup finals: the US, Canada, Mexico (host); Japan, Australia, South Korea, Iran, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil and New Zealand.
