Verifying clip of nanny abusing newborn baby in Hanoi

On the evening of May 31, answering a reporter from VTC News , Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Liet Ward (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi ), confirmed the incident of a nanny suspected of child abuse that occurred in the ward.

" I have assigned the Hoang Liet Ward Police to directly verify and clarify. The woman is currently working with the police ," said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chinh.

On May 31, a clip appeared on social media recording images of a woman suspected of abusing a newborn baby, causing a stir in public opinion.

The clip recorded in the early morning of May 31 shows a woman holding a newborn baby and shaking it violently, causing the baby to cry. The woman then continues to pick up and shake the baby violently, causing the baby to cry even more, before placing it down on the bed.

Immediately after the clip was posted online, many people were outraged. According to the investigation, the incident occurred at an apartment in the HH Linh Dam apartment complex (Hoang Liet ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi). The person who committed the abuse was hired by the child's family to take care of the child because the child's mother had just given birth prematurely and was in poor health.

Responding to VTC News reporter, Mr. NVB (relative of the child suspected of being abused) said that the family has reported to the police to resolve the matter, and the child is currently being monitored at the hospital.
