The regulatory agency decided to increase the price of E5RON92 gasoline by 380 VND/liter and RON95 gasoline by 270 VND/liter. After the adjustment, the maximum retail price for E5RON92 gasoline is 20,430 VND/liter and for RON95 gasoline is 21,010 VND/liter.
Diesel fuel increased by 490 VND/liter to 19,240 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 410 VND/liter to 19,240 VND/liter; and fuel oil also increased by 90 VND/kg to 16,180 VND/kg. The inter-ministerial committee maintained that it would not allocate or disburse funds from the price stabilization fund.
Thus, the price of RON95 gasoline in Vietnam has increased for two consecutive sessions. Currently, the price of this fuel remains at its lowest level in over three years, equivalent to the level in July 2021. From the beginning of 2024 until now, gasoline prices have increased 26 times and decreased 27 times. Diesel prices have increased 24 times and decreased 28 times.
The fuel price stabilization fund of some key enterprises still has a large positive balance because this fund has not been used in many recent price adjustments. The fund balance at the end of Q2/2024 was VND 6,061 billion, a decrease of VND 18 billion compared to the previous quarter and the fifth consecutive quarter of decline. Compared to the end of 2023, the fund balance decreased by nearly VND 600 billion.
