Based on developments in the global market and current regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance have decided on a new price management plan to ensure a balance of interests among market participants and support consumers.

Specifically, RON 95 III gasoline was reduced by 614 VND/liter to 19,006 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 gasoline was lowered by 523 VND/liter to a new price of 18,716 VND/liter.

While diesel and kerosene decreased by 219 and 228 dong respectively to 17,257 dong/liter and 17,709 dong/liter, fuel oil increased by 222 dong to 13,382 dong/kg.

From 3 PM on December 25, 2025, the prices of all gasoline and diesel products, except for fuel oil, will be adjusted downwards.

In this price adjustment period, the inter-ministerial committee continued to decide not to allocate funds or use the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund (BOG) for all petroleum products. Maintaining a reasonable price difference (290 VND/liter) between E5 RON 92 bio-gasoline and RON 95 mineral gasoline will continue to encourage the use of biofuels in accordance with the government 's policy.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the global oil market from December 18-24, 2025, was strongly impacted by complex geopolitical factors. The prospect of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine began to emerge, combined with escalating tensions in US-Venezuela relations, particularly the US interception of Venezuelan oil tankers, creating conflicting impulses. Furthermore, attacks on energy infrastructure during the Russia-Ukraine conflict continued, putting pressure on global supply.

The average price of refined petroleum products worldwide during this period showed a downward trend. Conversely, fuel oil increased by 2.33% to $342,774 per ton.
