DNVN - From 3 PM on October 17th, gasoline and diesel prices reversed course and decreased by 99 to 179 VND/liter or kilogram depending on the type, after two consecutive price increases.
In the price adjustment on October 17th, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance decided not to allocate funds or use the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund for E5 RON 92 gasoline, RON 95 gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, and fuel oil.
Accordingly, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 116 VND/liter to 19,730 VND/liter, and RON 95 gasoline decreased by 99 VND to a new price of 20,962 VND/liter.
From 3 PM on October 17th, gasoline and diesel prices reversed course and decreased after two consecutive price increases.
Diesel fuel, kerosene, and fuel oil also decreased by 179 dong, 163 dong, and 179 dong respectively, to new prices of 18,321 dong/liter, 18,627 dong/liter, and 16,090 dong/kg.
In the two previous price adjustments, fuel prices were significantly increased. In the most recent adjustment on July 10th, gasoline prices increased by 996 to 1,258 VND/liter compared to the current base price. Diesel prices also increased by 909 to 1,139 VND/liter or kilogram, depending on the type.
This decision to reduce fuel prices comes amidst a global oil market situation from October 10-16 being affected by factors such as: escalating tensions in the Middle East, OPEC lowering its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2024 and the following year, and the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine… These factors have caused global fuel prices to fluctuate, rising and falling depending on the specific product.
