Gasoline prices turn down

DNVN - From 3:00 p.m. on October 17, gasoline prices will decrease by 99 VND - 179 VND/liter or kg depending on the type after two previous consecutive price increases.

During the operating period on October 17, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance decided not to set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5 RON 92 gasoline, RON 95 gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and fuel oil.

Accordingly, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 116 VND/liter to 19,730 VND/liter, RON 95 gasoline decreased by 99 VND to the new price of 20,962 VND/liter.

From 3:00 p.m. on October 17, gasoline prices started to decrease after two consecutive price increases.

Diesel, kerosene, and fuel oil also decreased by VND179, VND163, and VND179, respectively, to new prices of VND18,321/liter, VND18,627/liter, and VND16,090/kg.

In the previous two periods, gasoline prices were adjusted up sharply. In the most recent period on July 10, gasoline prices increased from VND996 - VND1,258/liter compared to the current base price. Oil prices also increased from VND909 - VND1,139/liter or kg depending on the type.

The decision to adjust the price of gasoline and oil this time was made in the context that the world oil market from October 10 to 16 was affected by factors such as: escalating tensions in the Middle East, OPEC lowering its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2024 and the following year, and the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine... These factors have caused world oil and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on the product.
