Green - clean - beautiful for community health

Quang Nam Regional General Hospital (Dien Ban Ward) has just become one of the provincial medical facilities recognized and awarded by the Ministry of Health at the "Green - Clean - Beautiful Medical Facility" contest nationwide.

This is a contest launched by the Ministry of Health in 2024, with the enthusiastic response of the health system nationwide, including both the public and private sectors with more than 2,000 medical facilities from 34 provinces and cities participating.

In the end, 20 medical facilities in 5 basic health systems were selected by the Ministry of Health to receive awards after 1 year of launching. Quang Nam Regional General Hospital was awarded the Encouragement Prize in the group of provincial health facilities.

Green - clean - beautiful

For many years now, Quang Nam Regional General Hospital has gradually become a model in implementing the model of "Green - Clean - Beautiful Medical Facility" according to the criteria of the Ministry of Health.

The green color of the trees and the cleanliness of each hallway give patients a sense of security from the moment they step in.

The set of criteria for “Green - Clean - Beautiful Medical Facilities” issued by the Ministry of Health aims to improve the medical examination and treatment environment, enhance the experience and protect the health of patients and medical staff. The criteria include: green environment (trees, landscape), clean (infection control, medical waste management), beautiful (comfortable facilities, reasonable layout), along with civilized - safe - friendly factors.

Hospital spaces are invested in a friendly, clean and beautiful direction.

At Quang Nam Regional General Hospital, these criteria have been gradually concretized. Mr. Nguyen Tai - Director of Quang Nam Regional General Hospital said that each item set by the Board of Directors received the agreement of the medical staff of the entire hospital: from planting trees to cover the campus, creating miniature landscapes for patients to relax, to investing in a closed medical waste treatment system, classifying waste at source, ensuring no environmental pollution.

The first thing you notice when entering the hospital is the spacious courtyard, interspersed with carefully tended flower beds.

The hospital's Board of Directors said they have re-planned the entire campus, making the most of the space for trees, and renovating internal roads, ambulance and wheelchair access, ensuring smooth traffic while maintaining a harmonious landscape.

In particular, the departments are all green with the presence of trees and leaves, which helps to soothe the anxiety of patients.

Civilized and friendly

“A clean hospital is not only free of trash, but also has fresh air, no unpleasant odors, and no disease-causing bacteria,” shared an infection control officer.

The hospital has applied a scientific cleaning process: cleaning floors and disinfecting surfaces many times a day; arranging hand sanitizer in all departments...

The restrooms - a "nightmare" in many medical facilities - here have been invested in and renovated with full equipment, ensuring they are always dry and odorless.

One of the highlights of the hospital is the standard medical waste treatment system. Waste is classified right at the source: hazardous medical waste, recyclable waste, and household waste.

The waste storage area is separate, airy, and has clear signs. Hazardous medical waste is transferred to the treatment unit according to regulations, absolutely not allowed to remain and cause pollution.

Green spaces are invested by the hospital.

In addition, the hospital also organizes regular training for staff on waste collection, transportation and treatment processes, ensuring safety for both staff and the community.

The Ministry of Health's criteria also set out requirements for service attitude: gentle, dedicated, and respectful of patients.

At the patient reception hall, there is always staff on duty, providing enthusiastic guidance from procedures to directions to the clinic.
