More than 193,737 billion VND to implement the program

The Nha Trang City Urban Development Program aims to specify the orientation of urban system development according to Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on construction and development of Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045. The program closely follows approved planning projects, ensuring urban development associated with socio-economic growth, social security, preservation of historical and cultural values ​​and environmental protection. The overarching goal is to improve the quality of life of people through focusing resources on investment in building technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, and synchronous and modern landscape architecture.

Mr. Le Tien Vinh - Head of the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Nha Trang City said that to implement the program, the city will conduct a comprehensive review of socio-economic and urban infrastructure criteria. From there, a plan and roadmap will be developed to overcome missing or substandard criteria. On that basis, the city will propose solutions to mobilize resources to develop infrastructure, promote the role of Nha Trang city as a driving force in local economic growth, and effectively utilize the advantages of geographical location, resources and land fund.

According to the Nha Trang City Urban Development Program, by 2025, the city will strive to complete a number of criteria that have not been met according to the standards of a type I urban area; suburban communes will aim to meet infrastructure development standards to be eligible to establish wards. In the period of 2026 - 2030, the city aims to complete 100% of the criteria of a type I urban area, officially converting qualified communes to inner-city wards. By 2040, Nha Trang will continue to improve the criteria and standards of a type I urban area - a city under a centrally-run city, promoting its position as a national and international coastal tourism city, supporting the development of maritime logistics services, trade - services, finance, aiming to become an economic - financial center of the Southeast Asian region. The total investment capital demand for the program and related projects by 2030 is estimated at more than VND 193,737 billion, mainly from social investment capital.

Will review when arranging administrative units

Mr. Le Tien Vinh said that by 2030, all communes in Nha Trang will be upgraded to wards. This goal remains unchanged, so when there is an official decision on administrative unit arrangement, the city will review the criteria and develop an investment roadmap to ensure that missing indicators are promptly supplemented.

The program implementation roadmap is divided into phases. Accordingly, by 2025, the city strives to achieve the following standards: Public passenger transport rate reaches 15%; urban civilized streets reach 50%; have at least 1 certified green building; plan 4 urban functional areas, new urban areas according to the green urban model, applying high technology, smart.

Phase 2026 - 2030: The total urban population density reaches 3,000 people/ ^km2 or more; the population density in the inner city area reaches 12,000 people/ ^km2 ; the ratio of urban construction land to total natural land area reaches 24.4%; the average housing area in the inner city is ^33.5m2 /person; the average green area in the entire urban area reaches ^10m2 /person; the rate of wastewater treated to standards is 60% or more; traffic land reaches 4.5% of construction land; traffic road density reaches 2km/ ^km2 ; average traffic land is ^6.25m2 /person; public transport reaches 20%; civilized streets reach 60%; at least 2 certified green works; 4 urban functional areas, new urban areas following the green urban model, applying high technology, smart.

Period after 2031 to 2040: Continue to maintain and improve the above targets, in which the rate of civilized streets reaches 100%; urban construction land accounts for 32.1% of natural land area; average traffic land reaches ^13m2 /person; traffic density reaches 8km/ ^km2 ; public transport reaches 20% or more; public green area in the inner city reaches ^6m2 /person or more...
