Building a team of quarantine officers with solid expertise and good foreign language skills

This is one of the instructions of comrade Nguyen The Toan, Provincial Party Committee Member, Director of the Department of Health at the Inspection of the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of 2025 at the International Health Quarantine Center on August 25, 2025.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the International Health Quarantine Center controlled the epidemic situation well at the border gate area, promptly detected and prevented diseases and quarantine factors from spreading across the border. Medical quarantine procedures were carried out for 989,921 incoming passengers, 999,252 outgoing passengers, 200,411 incoming vehicles, 65,283 outgoing vehicles/ shipments, 772 inbound and outbound freight trains, 37 incoming passenger trains, 36 outgoing passenger trains, and medical treatment for 95,650 vehicles.

The Center has effectively implemented communication work on medical quarantine and disease prevention and control; well implemented and effectively applied the features of the Digital Border Gate Platform at Huu Nghi and Tan Thanh border gates in controlling entry and exit vehicles and import and export goods for the implementation of professional medical quarantine.

In his concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen The Toan, Director of the Department of Health, acknowledged and highly appreciated the unit's efforts in effectively implementing the assigned targets and tasks. At the same time, he requested that in the coming time, the unit should overcome the limitations pointed out through inspection, paying attention to public asset management, personnel work; digital transformation. Implement the arrangement of staff according to the Job Position Project in Circular 03/2023/TT-BYT to build positions and structure of job groups to ensure compliance with regulations and stability of the unit. In particular, the unit needs to strengthen training to improve the quality of staff, build a team of quarantine officers with solid expertise and good foreign languages ​​to meet the requirements of the tasks in the current period.

Regarding the Center's proposals and recommendations, the Director of the Department of Health accepted and assigned the functional departments of the Department of Health to coordinate and thoroughly resolve them.
