Building eco-tourism products in border areas in Loc Binh, Lang Son

NDO - On May 27, in Lang Son, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Lang Son province organized a Conference on Building Ecotourism Products in Loc Binh District. From there, it contributed to affirming the brand of tourism products of Loc Binh border district on the tourism map of Vietnam.

Loc Binh is a mountainous, border district located in the southeast of Lang Son province, bordering Ninh Minh district, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China). Not only has advantages in natural landscape and historical value, Loc Binh also preserves many outstanding cultural values, is a place of living, cultural exchange of ethnic groups with unique folk cultural heritage.

According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan, Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Lang Son province, Loc Binh district has many potentials and strengths to develop tourism. Many prominent tourist attractions of the district have been put into operation such as: Border patrol route from Chi Ma border gate (Loc Binh district) to Bac Xa commune (Dinh Lap district), the relic of High Point 424 with majestic mountain scenery.

In addition, Loc Binh also has 14 artificial lakes, a system of historical and cultural relics. In particular, Mau Son mountain, the highlight of Loc Binh district tourism, has been planned and invested in by the People's Committee of Lang Son province to become a national tourist area, with many outstanding cultural values, a place of residence and cultural exchange of ethnic groups.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan, Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Lang Son province, shared about the potential and strengths of tourism development in Loc Binh district.

At the conference, experts and tourism businesses highly appreciated the potential for ecotourism development in Loc Binh district, contributing ideas to find appropriate, innovative and creative ways to help the locality complete the construction of ecotourism products in the coming time. The goal is to promote community strength, preserve local cultural identity and landscapes, develop the economy , develop society and protect the environment and natural landscapes.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Hong Long, Head of the Department of Tourism, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to assess the potential for ecotourism development in Loc Binh district, first of all, it is necessary to understand that ecotourism is tourism that focuses on a lifestyle in harmony with nature, with a high sense of responsibility for the environment, in order to protect the ecosystem for sustainable development.

To develop ecotourism in accordance with the potential and advantages of the district, it is necessary to grasp the trend of ecotourism in the new era. Ecology includes both natural ecotourism and humanistic ecotourism. Loc Binh ecotourism with the highlight of Mau Son tourist area, has tangible and intangible values ​​and many unique attractions.

At the same time, focus on originality and difference in ecotourism development, and take measures to attract the participation of local communities in ecotourism development.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Hong Long, Head of Tourism Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, assessed the potential for ecotourism development in Loc Binh district (Lang Son province).

Sharing about the development orientation of ecotourism products in Loc Binh district in the period of 2025-2030, according to Dr. Le Quang Dang, Institute for Tourism Development Research (Vietnam National Administration of Tourism - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), with unique natural and cultural resources, especially Loc Binh located in the global geological space of Lang Son province, although still in the initial stage, the tourism picture of Loc Binh district has revealed promising development potential.

At the same time, Loc Binh needs to focus on building 5 typical tourism product lines: resort ecotourism, natural ecotourism, community ecotourism, agricultural ecotourism and environmental ecotourism.

At the conference, travel agencies also proposed many solutions to build high-quality eco-tourism products such as investing in tourism infrastructure, strengthening communication and promotion, focusing on effectively exploiting the potential of natural resources and unique local culture, ensuring sustainable development and environmental friendliness.

Besides, there should be suitable and open policies to attract many strategic investors, create quality tourism products that are suitable and in harmony with the cultural identity of Loc Binh.
